Oh, nd if you are a doomsday prepper, his is the car to have, s in a pinch, t will run on the oil used to cook French fries at your local eatery.
This is one of five that we have owned. Each of my children drove one in high school. This was my youngest daughter's car. I got it for her in 2011 and she loved the car so much that she continued to drive it after high school. She would only let it go when she got an all wheel drive Volvo Station Wagon. Even then, he had me keep the car for almost a year after she got the Volvo just to make sure that she was okay with letting the 300SDL go.
Referred to as the W126 body style. The W126 was one of the longest body styles put out by Mercedes and provides exceptional leg room and trunk space. Mercedes coupled the long body style with a fuel efficient and powerful six (6) cylinder turbo diesel in the 300SDL. These engines commonly hold up for over 400,000 miles. I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere. To this day we get over 25 miles to the gallon in the city and 30-32 mpg on the highway.
This car is the factory Alpine White with blue interior. The exterior has some dents, ings and parking lot rash, ut has always been a California Car, o it has no rust. We put custom wheels on it. The interior is in very good condition for its age, ut the dark blue leather does show wear, ncluding a small tear in the front passenger seat. Electric windows, lectric seat with two (2) memory settings, cruise control and adjustable steering column. We added a Sony high power CD stereo with Bluetooth phone/music streaming. Sounds great and allows hands free phone operation. (a "must have" for young drivers.)
The engine continues to run strong and the transmission was rebuilt right after I got the car in 2011. Since then, he car has been driven less than 35,000 miles. In that time I have done the following: AC system overhauled and switched to R134, ew radiator, ater pump, acuum pump, il seals, lex discs, uspension and just recently, ew battery, new brakes & tires.
The Bad: The sunroof doesn't work, C currently not working, he driver's window needs help going up/down and the windshield is cracked. As you can see from the pictures, here are some minor dents and dings to the exterior. There is a small tear in the passenger seat. Before we got the car someone did a poor job of tinting the windows and we just left it that way (my daughter thought the bubble effect looked cool).
Since my daughter got her Volvo, he 300SDL has just been sitting in my driveway. It is time for it to go to a good home.
The car is being listed locally as well as on Ebay. As such, reserve the right to end the auction early.
$250 deposit due by Paypal within 24 hours of the auction end. Balance to be paid by cash upon picking up the vehicle. Arrangement other than cash must be made in advance.
