The Mercedes Benz 560 SL was the car to own on the 1980's. It really defined the luxury class two seat sports car market. The 560 SL used the 107 chassis which was in existence from 1972 to 1989 and is a testament to the quality of the design. The 1987 model we have "lived" in Southern California from 1987 -2010. It came to Iowa through an estate sale. It has been garaged every winter since coming to Iowa and is completely rust free. The original owner maintained the car very well and it recently had an extensive fuel system flushing and upgrade, which cost $4800. Brakes, rotors, tires and suspension systems have all been well maintained and replaced when needed. The 5.6 L engine runs great, and pulls strong. The transmission shifts smoothly and the AC blows cold. The odometer shows about 61,500 miles. From what I can tell, the paint is original. No accidents have ever been reported for this vehicle. We do have a new soft top for this Mercedes as well as a refinished hard top.
