Original owner "Bought new in 1975, Mercedes 450SL"
We found this car last summer in late August. It was sold to me by the original owner a Retired surgeon who has been regularly driving andmaintainingthe car for the last 40 years.Becausei am an automobile enthusiast, i could not pass up on such a rare specimen. I purchased the Mercedesfrom the good Dr. who showed me the original window sticker and told me he "Bought it new in 1975" (40 years ago!). The Dr onlydrove approximately 8 miles each way to work everyday.Due to a decline in his health he is unable to drive any longer and did not wish the car go south because of non-operation. He felt better knowing that i would maintain the integrity of this fine automobile.I would not hesitate to drivethislegendary touring roadsteracross our country tomorrow. (it would truly be a pleasure.) I had to make a deal with my wife to sell the SL because i bought a low mile Porsche 911...but if no one bids, then i will have lived up to my part! LOL
She has had one repaint and still shines and turns heads. This is a great car and i hope that someone who appreciates the history andopportunityof keeping good care of this VERY original low mile car.
Feel free to email me your telephone number and i will give you a call between 9am - 9pm P.S.T.
Recent servicingdone in the last 300 miles:- New muffler and tail pipes (Mercedes OEM)- Complete vacuum service to ensure all vacuum lines are checked and replaced asnecessary.- New tires.- Oil change full synthetic.- New battery.
Highlights:Smooth power.Accurate and tight steering.Smooth shifting.Excellent ride.Suspensionis tight and quiet.Hard top.Newer radio.
Not so Highlights:- There is a small chip on the drivers front fender approximately 1/2inch in diameter.- Convertible top covering needs replacing. Frame is in pristine condition.Thank you for reading,Good luck bidding!-Mark
