Quite used 1994 E320 Wagon. Starts and drives, runs smoothly, exhaust isn't smoky. If you're not familiar with 1994-era e320's, please do some research. If you ARE, read on for the known issues with this wonderful car.
It's had the main wiring harness updated to the newer non-crumbling type, and the "B" harness was rewired. One of the ignition coils is pretty new. Brakes are fine. The ETA hasn't been replaced (don't know that it needs it) but I have a spare anyway I'll throw in with a buy-it-now. The original Becker head unit is in the garage, buyer can have that too if they want it. As you can see in the pictures, it's a well-worn car, but the only real damage is to the rear hatch area. It still functions properly, but it looks as it looks. The AC will work, but needs a charge. Likely got a dried out seal since the car hasn't been driven much lately; it generally worked fine before. This car has the hydraulic self-leveling rear suspension, which works fine, but there's a small leak in the hose by the left rear tire. How bad a leak? I have never in 5 years had to add fluid to the reservoir under the hood, but it's down to the point where it needs some now. The rear main seal on the engine probably needs replacing (sub-$25 part, if you can do it yourself). It doesn't leak on the driveway or anything (generally), but if you start it up and get out on the highway when it's cold, it'll squirt some out then, usually getting it onto the exhaust, which can be startling if it happens. While you're down there you could replace the neutral safety switch. As it is, generally you have to move the transmission to Neutral to start the car (as opposed to Park). When it's cold the car starts right up. When it's warm, it has to turn over for a few seconds. No clue why.
There's the expected wear inside the car (see pictures). The seat controls on the drivers door could use replacing, but they do work. Same with the power mirror control in the center console. The steering wheel is ugly, and the horn doesn't work.
This car drives/feels like it was milled from a solid billet of steel. Gotta hand it to them, they knew how to put these together. It's got the rear-facing third row seating in the back, which is awesome at the drive-in theater. It has a full-size spare tire which is the exact same wheels as are on the car typically (i.e. it looks just like the wheels in the pics).
Basically if you're an enthusiast and/or know something about these cars and/or don't mind occasionally getting your fingers greasy, this is an awesome deal on a classic ride. These cars are surprisingly cheap to maintain. When I stop at the red-light up the street in this car, I always freak out thinking the engine isn't running. It is. It's just that much smoother than my Subaru. I would hesitate to recommend buying this and thinking you're going to go use it as a pizza delivery car tomorrow, without a thorough once-over. With that in mind, I'm trying to sell locally, and trying to be as comprehensive and honest about its condition as possible. No warranties, no returns, etc. :) If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email with them.
