Note: Car is a 1985 model. The eBay system wouldn't recognize the Euro/Canadian VIN so I had to put 1980 in order for it to accept the listing.
You're looking at my one owner Euro/Canadian 1985 380SL (3.8 liter V8) that I purchased from the original owner back at the beginning of the year. He used this as his "beach car" for many years at his vacation home in Pawleys Island, until buying a new Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe' (VERY nice by the way!). He owns a baseball training camp in Cooperstown and this was getaway destination. The car ended up sitting for a few years until I acquired it, once the Rolls became his car of choice (can you blame him?!).The car overall is nice with decent paint, and a relatively clean leather (NOT MB Tex) interior. He had the car sourced at the time he bought it and the only one available was shipped in from Canada, hence the rare and desirable smaller, low profile Euro bumpers. I'm not sure if the engine is euro-spec, but it could very well be. The car has a clean and clear US title, so registering will not be an issue. I got the car running by directly feeding gas to the engine, but was having trouble getting either the fuel injectors to work or enough pressure in the lines. I decided not to fool with it further and let someone else that's more mechanically inclined get her back on the road, but it will run. I'm sure it's not that big of a deal, but I'm a Porsche guy by heart and have several 911 projects that are taking up my time and money (my '74 is in the background in one of the pics). The soft top was up when I bought the car (the hard top according to him had never been used other than for transporting it with the car to his beach house, and was sitting wrapped in a blanket in a storage room). I put it on when transporting the car to my home and haven't taken it off again. From recollection, the soft top is in decent condition with some minor hazing of the plastic window, but I don't think it was that bad. I don't recall any tears or cracks. The leather seats show minimal wear and being that they are 31 years old and original, I consider them pretty nice. These SL's are finally on the rise and with the Euro bumpers, highly desirable. The tires have lots of tread left, however are old and should be replaced. Original factory radio is still in her. Battery was shot so it was discarded. I'm listing with no reserve, last bid wins. Feel free to make an offer to end the listing early. Ask any and all questions before bidding. Zero feedback bidders MUST contact me prior to bidding or your bids will be cancelled. I've had too many game players in the past, and it ends up wasting my time and money relisting. Only bid if you are able to make a $500 PayPal deposit immediately following the auction, and pay the remaining balance via bank wire within 3 business days. No exceptions. I am a private collector and thinning my collection, and simply don't have the space or time anymore. This is a nice SL...I would just rather focus on my Porsche's. All sales are final, no warranties are expressed or implied. Car comes with multiple keys, books, first aid kit, misc tools, and the soft top/hardtop tool. Thanks for looking and happy bidding!
