I am pleased to offer this fine example of Mercedes’ premium luxury sports coupe/convertible. This 1996 SL500 is their flagship car in the S class range and this example personifies that. Finished in bright white with dove gray leather lends a perfect color combination. The paint is superb and the only blemish is a mark on the hardtop that I am sure came from storage. The soft top looks new in its black German cloth. All of the glass is excellent even the windshield is free of any deep marks or chips. The only flaw I could find is a crack in the right front marker/turn signal lens. This part is easily found on Ebay and is inexpensive. Inside you will be delighted to find leather seats that are multi adjustable and free of any abuse or issues. There is an upgrade to the sound system with the original unity stored in the trunk. Mechanically this Mercedes drives superb with power and quietness. There are no known issues. Problems that I have found are the plastic cover that surrounds the top of the rear view mirror is broken and I could not get the compartments behind the seats to open. I suspect the books are in one of them. On the plus side the Michelin tires look near new and the spare looks the same. This Mercedes is complete with the wind defector and a cover for the hardtop when it is stored. As always if you have any questions simply call or email. KY bidders will add 6% usage tax and $199 transfer/doc fees. Out of state residents will add $128 to cover title fees, mailing costs, temporary tags, etc. Contact to be made by winning bidder within business 24 hours and a minimum partial payment to be made within 72 hours of auction end. The partial payment is non-refundable, unless we fail to deliver the goods as described. Balance will be due within 7 business days of the close of the auction. Any exceptions to be worked out before the completion of the sale. Auctions ending on a Friday or holiday will be addressed the follow business day. We will be happy to assist the new owner in arranging transportation from our nearby airport, Lexington Bluegrass Field, at no extra charge.
All bidders must understand and agree that we reserve the right to cancel this auction at any time for any reason and we shall not be held liable for any such cancellation or closure. Unqualified or deadbeat bidding, auction interference, or any for of harassment will be subject to legal prosecution to the fullest extent of the law.
