1967 Mercedes 230Sl

1967 Mercedes Benz 230SL. Roadster. European model . 4 speed. two tops. hard and soft. Same owner since 1979; A present from husband to wife. This car has lots of provenance !!! Loads of registrations. and stacks of Records and service history! rebuild receipts. lots and lots of service records. lots of major servicing done. always maintained correctly. nbsp;it has a brand new gas tank just installed. An Orange county Southern California car for most of its life. nbsp; with the classic Blue and yellow Plates. The exterior of the car. is a very nice straight body. no signs of any accidents. European head lights. nice chrome bumpers. and grill. and a very nice original German Canvas Soft Top. in very good condition !!!. no holes. good back window . nbsp;Door fit. and lines are excellent. The paint is older. However it still looks great !!! Tags are good until May 2015. Tires are showing good tread. Very nice original wood on the dash. and wood console. Heater control knobs are not broken they are all operable. a big plus !! ( usually these are broken ). Original steering wheel in nice condition. All gauges are operable. the signal switch is working. but end of lever is broken. you will tinker with this car. here and there. just to bring it up to snuff. really not too much to do. Seats are in great condition as well as sun visors. and windshield (no cracks). Working Blaupunkt Blue Point Radio. Trunk is excellent! A few minor places of spotting due to the mat and moisture but nothing major at all. The underside has some sheet metal rust ( Please See Photos ). on the four corners basically. Please note: This is a European delivered car; so it does have the typical rust on the underside in some areas. ( see photos ) some filler on the fenders. and other places. the points of integrity are solid; Mounts. Struts. Etc. Etc. With some underbody work you can bring this back to a very nice car. This is not a restored car. nbsp; but with a little work you will have a beautiful classic !!! The car drives very nice! Strong engine. good clutch and transmission. a small hole in muffler . makes it sound good. This 230SL has a very strong engine. its very peppy . and is a pleasure to drive .
