Description

This auction is for an extremely well kept. 141k mile. classic 1982 Mercedes Benz 300SD with the rare and sought after black interior; most have the horrible blue. burgundy or grey. I've had the car for about a year and believe I'm the fourth owner. The previous owner had it forever. kept it in his garage and so have I the short time I've owned it. I love it and had planned on keeping it for years to come. but. plans have changed and I'll just not really have space. moving downtown. Though because my intention was to keep it. I spared no expense fixing and replacing lots of parts and performing all required and regular maintenance items. Here's a quick list and just about everything was done with OEM Mercedes Benz parts:- compression test; don't remember the numbers but was told the engine runs strong and at 141k miles is finally nicely broken in- Michelin windshield wipers- Duralast battery (still under warranty)- all coolant hoses - thermostat and fresh antifreeze - engine mounts- glow plugs and reamed out the glow plug ports- both fuel filters- potentiometer- fog lights- passenger head light- fuel primer pump- air filter- crank case ventilation hoses- purged the fuel system with two full bottles of Lubro Moly diesel fuel purge- replaced a handful of fuel lines from the tank to the engine- replaced the factory speakers with new Kickers- replaced the factory stereo with a new Pioneer unit; Bluetooth. Aux. microphone. App ready. etc (have original stereo)- transmission pan. filter and fluid- tie rods and steering components- engine oil and filter and oil filler cap- front wheel bearings (both sides)- brand new Kumho tires (less than 400 miles)I'm certain I've left things out but short of going through my receipts. this is what I can remember. And of course. I do have receipts for everything mentioned. I would not hesitate to drive the car to California. It starts right up every time. no issues. takes a few minutes to reach operating temp and then is good to go. She cruises easily at 65 and. believe it or not. on the highway gets me about 28mpg. Back that down to 55-60mph and it might even do a little better. Shifting is. as common for these guys. not super smooth but effective. The car really is a survivor. No cracks in the dash or pleather though there is a small tear on the driver side lower section. Only one small speck of a chip in the wood near the stereo and only very minimal surface rust; passenger side door has a quarter size spec and there's a couple other spots of light bubbling under the paint. Nothing major and even this can easily be fixed. I took it to my body guy whom quoted me $1000 to sand and putty the few bits of cancer and then re-paint the entire car using base coat/clear coat. My intention was to move forward but now that I'm selling. Furthermore. everything works!. you believe that s&$t. The auto climate control. all power windows. power seats. sunroof. passenger side mirror. speaker fade. cruise control!. defrosters. vents. even the rear dome light. Actually. I lied. The power antenna stopped working. It's now a manual antenna. I think the antenna motor died. It worked when I bought the car but recently stopped. Otherwise. the car is good. So. the car isn't perfect. it has it's bumps and bruises. nicks and chip. But it's always garaged. gets the best diesel fuel around and always with a can of Lubro Moly diesel fuel additive/cleaner mixed in per tank. and is washed and waxed regularly. Good. classic. reliable car. If you have questions and would like a response. please do not text or email. Feel free to call - 410. 746. 6226 - I'll hear any reasonable offer. Payment is expected within 48 hours of close of auction unless contacted and arrangements are made. Cash is preferred. checks. ok. though the car won't be released until cleared. If Paypal is necessary I'll go with it but add 3% to the closing price. I can help with shipping if necessary but at the buyers expense. There is no warranty. Thanks. AS410. 746. 6226
