1995 Mercedes S350 Diesel

I'm offering this car up for sale and someone who is a Mercedes Benz diesel lover or aficionado is going to get a very nice car with a ton of life left in it. I only recently bought this car and had planned on putting another couple of hundred thousand on it but I got a company car so she's up for sale. Some of the small issues the car had upon purchase have since been repaired. They consisted of an SRS airbag light being on. that has been repaired and a few repairs outlined below. As stated when I bought the car: This Mercedes S350 Turbo Diesel belonged to a friend of a friend. He owned the car since 2004 when it had 83k miles. He drove it daily for work and it never let him down. 2 years ago he had a new Mercedes transmission installed as the original started slipping ($5500). All work it ever needed was performed without question. including a genuine Mercedes battery! Until recently that is. The rear tires began to wear on the inner edges. the car and it was in need of rear control arms/bushings (and tires of course). When presented with estimate he opted to upgrade into a new unit. I just completed the following services:- Engine oil service (Genuine MB filter & Rotella 15/40 Diesel oil)- Replaced fuel filter- Replaced air filter- Replaced lower rear control arms and bushings (German Lemforder brand parts)- 4 Wheel alignment- Replaced engine serpentine belt and tensioner pulley- Replaced front brakes pads and wear sensors- Replaced rear brake pads- Replaced both drive shaft flex disks and the center carrier bearing. again German OEM partsMechanically the car is very well sorted out. ENGINE STARTS IMMEDIATELY EVERY TIME regardless of ambient temperature. the glow plugs system works perfectly. ENGINE DOES NOT SMOKE ON START UP. OR EVEN WHEN CLIMBING THE STEEPEST INCLINES. Motor sounds wonderful and uses NO oil between changes. gearbox shifts very nicely. This example does not have the troublesome SLS (Self leveling suspension). So no worries of future expensive repairs. Also. the engine wiring harness that all failed prematurely has been replaced over the years. so no worries there either. The car does have all the goodies that the W140 S Class cars are known for. Legendary build quality. these era S class appear 'military grade' in comparison to the new generation. The quality of the materials is just amazing. Dual pane window glass. supple carpeting on floors and doors. The ride quality will rival ANY modern car! 85MPH feels like 25MPH. Overall the exterior condition and paint are very presentable. Some nicks and a scratch here and there expected with mileage. but not major dents/scratches/paint issues. The car shows very. very well. When I took these pics there was pretty good frost in the morning. a little frost remains on the hood in the one picture. its not a paint defect. There is no rust on the undercarriage/frame. very solid car (prior to 2004 the car was in Florida). All of the hood. door and trunk jambs are surprisingly clean. The interior is quite clean. Showing normal wear on driver's seat but NO rips or tears. Wood trim in overall good condition. few cracks on the surround of the shifter lever. -Power seats-Power mirrors-Power tilt and telescoping steering wheel-Power door locks and windows-Power sunroof-Dual zone climate control-Aftermarket Sony 10 CD Changer is mounted in the trunk (works good)-Factory Mercedes carpeted mats is outstanding condition-Factory tool kit complete-Have all the manuals and zippered leatherette case. 2 keys. and the factory radio code is present-This car DOES NOT have the problematic connecting rod issue present with this and the following model year. the dealership assured me the VIN check verifies this and frankly. most have failed long before this mileage. No worries here. There are not too many of these S350's in North America. This is a great running a driving car and it is a pleasure to drive. Recent impossible road conditions with snow covered roads gave this car an opportunity to shine and even though it is NOT 4matic it is in fact a tank and plows through the most challenging conditions effortlessly. Current mileage is right around 216K and it runs like new. Things to note:1. Power seat headrests not functioning at this time (probably switches). They can be moved manually. 2. Antenna mast no longer operates but can be retracted and raised manually. Please bid to own and no stupid questions please.
