1966 Mercedes Fintail - Complete nut and bolt restoration - Outstanding example

1966 Mercedes 200 Heckflosse Show quality restoration All new mechanicals Runs and drives like new Here up for bids is one incredible Fintail. This 1966 Mercedes 200 has been completely restored from front to back and top to bottom. It features new paint. new upholstery. rebuilt engine and transmission. all new suspension and brakes. plus about a hundred other details. High quality paint in the car's original color of Dark Green (DB268H) over a super straight body. The car was completely apart for painting. all glass out. all trim off. Beautiful everywhere you look. The rear bumper was rechromed. the front is original and doesn't quite have the depth and clarity of the rear. And that right there is my only gripe about the car. Panel fit throughout is excellent. as per factory standards. showing perfect gaps. The windshield has been replaced and is flawless. the remainder of the glass are Sekurit originals in outstanding condition. Every single window seal is new. as well as the cloth binding and channel felts on the side windows. Grill. emblem and badge are all in terrific condition. All lights and lenses are like new. Clean and rust free trunk with original jacking equipment and tool kit. Great looking upholstery with very nice fit and finish. The Coco Mats add a nice vintage feel to this interior. these were optional add-ons for Mercedes and Porsche automobiles from that era. No loose ends to tie up. the attention to detail is exact and the work complete. Every switch and knob operates correctly. even the clock works. Nice dash with no cracks. Headliner is perfect from front to back. The old Blaupunkt has been replaced with a new one. tastefully installed in a custom enclosure. The switch on the left is for the power antenna. which works perfectly. Normally I'm a snob for originality but the sound quality in this car is pretty incredible. Ipod. USB and SD ready. this unit is also Bluetooth equipped for hands free phone operation. All 4 door panels are in good shape with no warping. Windows all wind smoothly. locks all work. Every piece of weatherstripping on the car is new. including the door seals you see here. The sills are a potential trouble spot for rust on these cars. not an issue here. Under the Coco Mats the original rubber flooring is still in great shape. All windows except for the windshield are Sekurit branded originals. NOS key blanks were sourced to replicate the originals. that's the level of detail this restoration was given. If you like details. you'll love the mechanicals on this car. Basicallly. it's all new. Full rebuilds on the engine and transmission. Full driveline rebuild. full rear axle rebuild. All new suspension. All new brakes. New factory exhaust. Fuel system. cooling system. nothing was overlooked. Mechanically this is a brand new car. Getting behind the wheel of this car is a revelation. the driving experience is akin to taking delivery of a new Mercedes in 1966. From the tight suspension. precision shifting. smooth braking and perfect engine performance. it's truly mind blowing.
