OVERVIEW:

1956 Mercury Monterey 2 Door "NO-POST" Coupe. BLACK exterior, GREY interior, chrome trim. Straight body, ZERO RUST, hot rod driver!!! Looking for an original ride that's not your typical bel-air at the car show? This could be it.

BACKGROUND:

Found this car a few years ago in Northern California from the previous owner whohad the vehicle since 1981. Most of the modifications were completed during his ownership (engine, paint, interior, etc.) and he garaged it for many years except for the occasional weekend trip/car show. The odometer shows 55,XXX miles which I'm assuming are original due tohis extremely light use over the years. It was kept in a separate garage on his property undera car cover and had never seen a drop of rain. Since I bought the car, I've made modest tweaks to keep the car in it's original state while helping it perform like it should.It's still garage kept and meticulously maintained. My quick synopsis: IT'S FAST, FUN, RELIABLE AND DEFINITELY UNIQUE - MOST IMPORTANTLY IT'S A QUINTESSENTIAL 50S, BAD ASS HOT ROD !

HIGHLIGHTS:

-Straight, Body NO RUST, No POST Coupe

-HO 351w Crate Motor, produces approx 500 hp and 490 lbs/torque. Crane roller rockers, Trick Flow Twisted Wedge Heads with aftermarket springs and a roller HO cam. The block has been decked, square bored, line honed and honed with deck plates. It is bored .030 over with hyper pistons. Compression ratio is 9:5 to 1. The crank is 10/10 and magnafluxed. Rods are rebuilt and magnafluxed as well. Also has a double roller timing chain. Holly Street Avenger 4 Barrel Carburetor. DUI Electronic Ignition System.

-AOD Tranny (less than 5k on motor and tranny)

-Front Disc Brakes (drum rear)

-Baby Moon Wheels Powdered Coated Level 10 Gloss Black

-Upgraded Suspension: 2" drop front and back. Bilstein Shocks.

-Stock Interior. Original Power Steering and Power Seats (up, down, forward, back)!
