1951 Mercury coupe with original Flathead V8 and 3 speed transmission w/overdrive. Car runs. drives and brakes as it should. The flathead starts up easy and runs well. The transmission. overdrive. clutch. pressure plate and throwout bearing were rebuilt or replaced less than a year ago. The brakes are about a year old with new parts including master cylinder and wheel cylinders. Other recent repairs consist of serviced radiator with new hoses. new belts. balanced drive shaft with new u-joints. new rear pinion seal. rebuilt starter. and several odds and ends like new parking light lenses. trunk and hood emblems. The chrome was redone before I bought it. but has been redone somewhat recently. The car has good floors. but does have some rust in the rockers and trunk as are problem areas with these Mercury's. The car can still be driven and enjoyed as is. but for restoration purposes these spots would need to be repaired. Paint is an older lacquer job with some cracking but a nice even patina. Interior is complete but has a few issues as pictured. The garnish mouldings have been chromed in the past. Car has its cosmetic issues. but also has a lot of charm and patina and is a good driver. The tires are in decent shape. The gauges work. but the speedometer is not currently hooked up. The turn signals are not working. but I have not looked into that. I have an extra 1950 dash that is in better condition than what is in the car that I will include to the winning bidder. The car is currently registered in GA but I also have a Virginia title as well. Feel free to email any questions. Car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end auction early.
