This 1963 Mercury Meteor Custom up for auction is a true survivor. with only 86K miles. the paint is original the car has never been in an accident and no rust anywhere. The stainless on the body has no flaws. The bumpers have some dings and there is a small dent in the front of the hood. My grandson drove the car for a year before he went in the Army and was a little aggressive on the polish. rubbing through the paint in a couple of spots. I airbrushed a thin coat of white lacquer over the spots but you can still see them if you look hard. There are all the parking lot paint chips that a fifty something year old car might have. The interior is all original and needs some work to be done. the dash pad is cracked and the headliner is toast. the rear package trey has a speaker hole and is faded. The seats still have the original upholstery material but will need replacing. My grandson put some nice material. as you can see in the pictures . hen he was driving the car. The carpet is original and in good shape. I am the second owner and love the car but I have two other Meteors in various stages of restoration. The car for sale is an original two door Custom with power steering. automatic transmission and factory air conditioning that blows cold. I just had the original engine completely rebuilt and I’ve replaced the radiator. carburetor and the shocks. The 1962 and 1963 Meteor was a two year only production run and it shared the Fairlane's 116. 5 wheelbase. It also has the unique rear quarter styles in the pattern of senior Mercury's jet pod taillights. The 1963 Mercury Meteor Custom had a production of only 3935 making it extremely rare in any condition let alone in survivor condition.
