2005 Mini Cooper Convertible, One Owner, Needs Mechanical work

This one owner Mini Cooper has a mechanical issue in that the transmission does not shift into the higher gears. On Google there are a number of rebuilt and used (with warranty) transmissions available, ost start around $2,000 and go up from there. Some Mini chat rooms address this problem and some have had success with a thorough cleaning and service. Assume that worst case it will need a replacement. The engine runs excellent and the car is drivable up to about 30mph. It is in Santa Barbara and is available for inspection and limited road tests.

Except for the transmission issue the car is absolutely gorgeous!! The paint is very, ery good. Except for extremely minor flaws the body is straight and much, uch better than average for the age. There have been no problems with the engine and it has always run great. The convertible top is exceptional and operates well. The seats are very good as you can see in the photos and the carpets are exceptional as well. Tires have about 50% wear left on them.

This is a one owner car with all maintenance records from new. The car has been serviced regularly and it received $1000 worth of new brakes and rotors in the last few hundred miles (regret spending that money!!)

Of note the only minorflaws of note are the electronic unlockfeature in the key is intermittent and the driver's side arm restcover has come loose.

This car would be worth the effort or the expense tofix and enjoy.We are letting it go cheap and the new owner will have a great carat a very reasonable price!

The title is clear, OT salvage andit is currently registered in California.Because of thetransmission issue we will not be providing smog (ithas never had any problem at all passing)
