While the power increase may sound nominal. the extra horses are much smoother courtesy of fully variable valve lift and timing. The S also benefits from a lower torque curve. with 191 lb-ft at 1600 rpm (versus 2006 ratings of 162 @ 4000). making its power more readily accessible. The end result is an even livelier car. Handling revisions include a tighter rear suspension with aluminum longitudinal shafts and a standard Sport Button which allows the driver to opt for improved acceleration. increased steering response. and swifter gear changes when paired with the automatic transmission. Bigger front and rear disc brakes have also been introduced for 2007. Visually. MINI offers more color combinations than ever before with a new line of optional interior trims.
