Description

I bought this top of the line Mitsubishi in 1988. brand new from the local Mitsubishi dealer on Long Island. NY. It's been on the road all that time. A family car. driven at least every week. year round. It has 135. 00 original miles. It had a Valve Job @ about 65. 00 miles to make it new again. Its Always been maintained and loved. Comes with:All Service. nbsp;Maintenance. Parts & work records - Bills / Receipts. etc. Gas & mileage records from about the 8th tank of gas. Original "Option/Price Window sticker". nbsp;Original Owners/Maintenance manual in original vinyl case. dealer brochure & the dealers 'Cassette tape of use & features' - all in great condition (maintenance booklet is written in for work done). nbsp;Original Dealer "MITSUBISHI" Floor mats (You may think they have seen better days. Drivers side has a warn spot where my heal has been going for 27 years). nbsp;Original Service/Repair Manual set. nbsp;Original Stainless Steel exhaust system (except for a replacement catalytic converter - wouldn't pass NYS inspection without its replacement a few years back). have the original stereo cassette system in the garage - I'll include it. The last few years I have only put about 1. 00 miles or less a year on it - the family has grown up and has moved out - so its time to get rid of it. It still runs and handles like the day I got it. Some items of work done in the last few years (2. 00 miles?) were:New Brake pads. ew Brake line. nbsp;New Rotors. ew Starter. ew Shock absorbers all around. ew Timing Belt(s). ew Alternator & belt. ew Battery. nbsp;New Water Pump & thermostat. ewly custom painted. original aluminum alloy wheels (including the spare). tires. nd the usual things: spark plugs. oil changes. hoses as needed. etc. OK. now for the bad stuff:The sliding door has two ball bearing rollers that are like little plastic wheels. in the center. One has the plastic missing from it. but the door still rolls very well. The front seats are not torn - but the two-tone stripes are getting very thin in places (the upholstery underneath them is still strong. ) The rear seats have VERY good original upholstery too. (The top seam between the 'trunk side' vinyl and seat fabric on the rear seat has been sewed back together. The vinyl has a few tears in it from use while folded down. )There is an Oil leak. I think it is the seal for the oil pump. I have to add oil to the crankcase every other tank of gas or so. (There is an "idiot light" to remind you when it needs oil. It does drip in the driveway after its been running - but stops after the engine is cooled down/not running. )Odometer stopped working. but the "trip odometer" portion still allows for accurate mileage records for maintenance intervals & figuring MPG. And I know I already mentioned the AC. Cruse control. paint & rust. somewhere in this listing. See attached photos. I tried to show all the bad things. Other things:I disconnected the seatbelt/key buzzer - but it should still work if put back in. The rear wiper system has been updated with a delay setting. No cracks on the dash - but a GPS mount was put on with Elmers glue. You can remove it if you like. It is mostly original paint and still has a shine to it. There is a small stone chip in the windshield where it doesn't get in the way (behind rear view mirror. )I'll hate to see it go. It was the first car I had ever bought brand new ($18. 00 brand new. But all good things must come to and end at some point. On Apr-26-15 at 17:56:38 PDT. seller added the following information:A few more notes: I forgot to mention that it still has the original tool kit & jack. properly tucked away in its original. hidden storage area. I've kept everything as stock as I could. The Blaupunkt AM/FM CD player that replaced the cassette radio. is attached in the original spot in the dash (without any cutting or drilling modifications) and is hooked up to the original 5 speaker system - as well as an added bass sub-woofer. in the rear. under the rear bench seat. It all works and sounds very well. This 'Wagon" is TOTALLY RESTORABLE for those so inclined. A quite rare vehicle indeed! All of the lights. signals. horn. dash lights and other items are all functioning properly (with the exception of what I already mentioned above - the odometer and air conditioning. ) I forgot to mention or take a photo of the rust spot under the rear window. under the paint - sorry I missed it. I forget its there. I wanted to be brutally honest about all of it's pitfalls. Again. sorry. The oil leak is not through the engine - no smoke out the tailpipe. It may be a simple gasket or seal - I don't know. I haven't had it looked at in the three years or so that it has been leaking. The radiator was re-cored a while back and is still in very good shape. It never overheats. The oil pan was also fixed many years back and is holding just fine. It is very useful to have around. It has no trouble holding a 4x8 sheet (or six or more sheets) of plywood or sheet-rock with the removable seat NOT even removed. and with the tailgate CLOSED. With the rear bench removed. it can move a washing machine or other large items. The center seats fold flat and it can sleep two people comfortably too. The tires all have very little mileage on them and will have no trouble passing a State safety inspection. For those who don't know its history: this is the US version of the Mitsubishi Delica / L300 / L400 minivan and was imported to North America from only 1987 until 1990. in very small numbers. In the United States it was called the "Wagon" for passenger versions (like this one) and "Van" for a windowless cargo version (not this one. ) The US versions all received a 107 horsepower (80 kW) version of Mitsubishi's reliable 2. 4-liter 4G64 engine. So parts are still available to keep it going strong. I hope someone will buy this and give it a new home. taking care of it as well as I have all these years.
