2001 Nissan Pathfinder LE 4WD.
118,100 miles.
Runs well.
4-wheel drive high, ow, nd auto modes.
Hankook Dynapro AT-M tires are mud and snow rated and have less than 2000 miles on them.
Cold A/C and hot heater.
Heated leather seats.
Power moonroof.
Power windows and keyless entry.
Automatic transmission with overdrive.
Several maintenance items were completed last fall less than 2000 miles ago, ncluding new OEM drive belts, EM air filter, rake pads and rotors, heel bearings cleaned and repacked, ew wipers, ew muffler, EM O2 sensor. New battery this year.
Transmission and engine seem strong and the engine hasn’t burned or leaked any oil during my ownership.
I am the fourth owner.

2001 is the first year that the Pathfinder utilized the modern VQ35DE engine, imilar to the engine found in the Murano, axima, tc. It is a big improvement over the VG33 engine used in older Pathfinders and in the 1st gen Xterras.
The VQ35DE uses a timing chain instead of a timing belt, o no need to worry about changing it.
Vehicle is 15 years old and has some imperfections. I am listing every issue I am aware of, ut I cannot guarantee the list is exhaustive. The vehicle comes as-is without warranty. I recommend checking out the car in-person before bidding.
This isn’t the prettiest vehicle to look at. Please see photos. It has quite a few scrapes and scratches. The rear passenger fender and several other spots could use some cosmetic rust repair. There is also some rust underneath. The vehicle has previously had cosmetic repairs performed – there is uneven Bondo on several spots and some paint overspray (particularly on the passenger side rear fender).
Recall NTB11-064h/RCRIT-11V244-5055 was performed last year by Nissan, hich was rust repair on the front strut towers.
Front bumper cover is in rough shape and is repaired with Bondo. You can get a new primered bumper cover on eBay for $81.95 shipped.
Brakes seem to have had some air in them ever since they were serviced last fall (replaced pads, otors, rake master cylinder, nd a brake line; calipers were cleaned). I’ve been driving like this without a problem the brakes are consistent, ut the pedal goes down more than normal. My guess is that the mechanic did not bleed the LSV air bleeder as required per the Nissan service manual.
Starter occasionally hesitates, hich it has done since I purchased the vehicle last fall. I had it checked out by a mechanic in February who said the charging system is fine (he replaced the negative battery terminal and the battery). The issue does not seem completely resolved, ut the vehicle has not required a jump start since that repair.
There is not currently a check engine light and system is ready according to OBDII reader. However car sometimes displays CEL code P1491 (Vacuum Cut Valve Bypass Valve), enerally after a long drive on the freeway.
Tear in driver’s side leather seat.
No carpet in the trunk.
No engine splash shield.
Driver’s window switch does not open the front passenger window, ut it does open the driver’s window and backseat windows. Passenger window does open fine via the passenger-side window switch.
CD player doesn’t play CDs. Gives message “err1”.
Clock doesn’t display anything.
The gearshift selector lever button can be pushed without depressing the brake pedal.
Comes with one key and one key fob.
