This 2006 Ford GT was offered in one trim level with only a handful of available options.
It features an aluminum chassis with double-wishbone suspension, 8-inch front and 19-inch rear wheels, pecial high-speed tires.
It is powered by a supercharged 5.4-liter aluminum V8 engine putting out 550 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque through asix-speed manual transmission and limited-slip differential.
Standard equipment included are the HID headlights, ir-conditioning, eyless entry, ower windows and a CD audio system.
This car has the upgraded McIntosh audio system with four-channel amplifier, s well as light weightforged aluminum wheels,grey painted brake calipers and a full-length racing stripe.

We fly in to inspect the car, ost of the times it's acollectionwhich can be 5 or 6 cars....or more.Many times it's a lot more, 5, 0 or as high as 100+ cars.
When we purchase & ship the cars back to Florida we inspect and drive every car. If it needs anything, e haveit correctly & expertly repaired. We don't take shortcuts. If an Air-conditioning system is not working, e don'tjust add Freon....we go through the entire system and fix it right. We're not perfect and once in a greatwhile we mightoverlook something...if we do...call us and we will do everything we can to make it right.
Additionally, e're not greedy. A small markup is added to each car, e keep the overhead to a minimumand always "leave room" for the new buyer to sell his or her car should they make that decision.

Here is some interesting history on the original Ford GT40The Ford GT40 was first raced in May 1964 at theNürburgring1000 km racewhere it retired with suspension failure after holding second place early in the event. Three weeks later at the24 Hours of Le Mans, ll three entries retired although the Ginther/Gregory car led the field from the second lap until its first pitstop. After a season-long series of dismal results under John Wyer in 1964, he program was handed over toCarroll Shelbyafter the 1964 Nassau race. The cars were sent directly to Shelby, till bearing the dirt and damage from the Nassau race. Carroll Shelby was noted for complaining that the cars were poorly maintained when he received them, ut later information revealed the cars were packed up as soon as the race was over, nd FAV never had a chance to clean, nd organize the cars to be transported to Shelby.Shelby's first victory came on their maiden race with the Ford program, ith Ken Miles and Lloyd Ruby taking a Shelby American-entered Ford GT[9]to victory in theDaytona 2000 in February 1965. The rest of the season, owever, as a disaster. Ford GT40 Mk I road versionThe experience gained in 1964 and 1965 allowed the 7-litre Mk II to dominate the following year. In February, he GT40 again won at Daytona. This was the first yearDaytona was run in the 24 Hour formatand Mk II's finished 1st, nd, nd 3rd. In March, t the1966 12 Hours of Sebring, T40's again took all three top finishes with the X-1 Roadster first, Mk. II taking second, nd a Mk. I in third. Then in June at the24 Hours of Le Mansthe GT40 achieved yet another 1-2-3 result.The Le Mans finish, owever, as clouded in controversy: in the final few hours, he Ford GT of New ZealandersBruce McLarenandChris Amonclosely trailed the leading Ford GT driven by EnglishmanKen Milesand New ZealanderDenny Hulme. With a multimillion-dollar program finally on the very brink of success, ord team officials faced a difficult choice. They could allow the drivers to settle the outcome by racing each other – and risk one or both cars breaking down or crashing. They could dictate a finishing order to the drivers – guaranteeing that one set of drivers would be extremely unhappy. Or they could arrange a tie, ith the McLaren/Amon and Miles/Hulme cars crossing the line side-by-side.The team chose the last and informed McLaren and Miles of the decision just before the two got in their cars for the final stint. Ford stuck with the orchestrated photo finish but Miles, eeply bitter over this decision after his dedication to the program, ssued his own protest by suddenly slowing just yards from the finish and letting McLaren across the line first. Miles died in a testing accident in the J-car (later to become the Mk IV) at Riverside (CA) Raceway just two months later.Miles' death occurred at the wheel of the Ford "J-car", n iteration of the GT40 that included several unique features. These included an aluminum honeycomb chassis construction and a "breadvan" body design that experimented with "kammback" aerodynamic theories. Unfortunately, he fatal Miles accident was attributed at least partly to the unproven aerodynamics of the J-car design, s well as the experimental chassis' strength. The team embarked on a complete redesign of the car, hich became known as the Mk IV. The Mk IV, newer design with a Mk II engine but a different chassis and a different body, onthe following year at Le Mans(when four Mark IVs, hree Mark IIs and three Mark Is raced). The high speeds achieved in that race caused a rule change, hich already came in effect in 1968: the prototypes were limited to the capacity of to 3.0 litre, he same as inFormula One. This took out the V12-poweredFerrari 330Pas well as the Chaparral and the Mk. IV.If at least 50 cars had been built, portscars like the GT40 and theLola T70were allowed, ith a maximum of 5.0L.John Wyer's revised 4.7litre (bored to 4.9 litres, nd o-rings cut and installed between the deck and head to prevent head gasket failure, common problem found with the 4.7 engine) Mk I. It won the24 hours of Le Mans race in 1968against the fragile smaller prototypes. This result, dded to four other round wins for the GT40, ave Ford victory in the1968 International Championship for Makes. The GT40's intended 3.0L replacement, heFord P68, nd Mirage cars proved a dismal failure. While facing more experienced prototypes and the new yet still unreliable 4.5Lflat-12poweredPorsche 917s, he1969 24 Hours of Le ManswinnersJacky Ickx/Jackie Olivermanaged to beat the remaining 3.0litrePorsche 908by just a few seconds with the already outdated GT40 Mk I (in the very car that had won in 1968 - the legendary GT40P/1075). Apart from brake wear in the Porsche and the decision not to change pads so close to the race end, he winning combination was relaxed driving by both GT40 drivers and heroic efforts at the right time by (at that time Le Mans' rookie) Ickx, ho won Le Mans five more times in later years. In 1970, he revisedPorsche 917dominated, nd the GT40 had become obsolete.
