Description

Selling my Classic 1967 Oldsmobile Toronado Sport to help fund the completion of my 1949 Olds 98 Street Rod . This is a rare car indeed with factory bucket seat and console option. 425 cu in V8 385 hp. power windows. seat. tilt. telescopic wheel. dual exhaust and chrome wheels. Sat in garage 18 years in Buzzards Roost Alabama! No rust. this includes rockers. floor pans. and lower fenders. the trunk floor has very minor spot that will be easy to repair. no pan needed. Car runs and drives good. motor does not smoke. tick. knock or have any cold rattles. I replaced the carb with an Eldebrock 600 cfm. original in trunk. brand new tires and battery. original spare. jack and tools in trunk also. Things that need attention are as follows: Driver's side headlamp does not want to go up. I have it locked in place in case of night driving. passenger side operates fine. The a/c compressor is stuck. radio does not play. power seat switch slipped into door. and of course the mufflers are a little loud as they are over 20 years old! the previous owner told me the miles were right and the speedometer was working when stored. the cable must be stuck or broken as it does not work now. The hood hinges are weak. but hood stays shut and there's no danger of it flying up at any speed. Like I said this is a VERY RARE CAR! As I understand out of 40. 00+ 67 Oldsmobile Toronado's built it's 1 of 56 that had the bucket seat & console option. It does run and drive good. but like any car that has sat for 18 years there will be things to do before driving long distance. I would suggest the following: Even though she runs smooth a major tuneup including points. plugs. condenser. wires and a cap should be done. the cooling system should be flushed and all hoses and thermostat replaced. I did replace numerous vaccum lines and the upper radiator hose when I first got it. Just want to be honest with everyone. she's not perfect but one heck of a lot better than what I've seen for sale. I've bought classic cars on eBay before and once flew from Texas to California to drive back a 41 Cadillac street rod. the seller assured me she was perfect! Once there it wouldn't even start without a jump. the radiator was pouring coolant. the "Updated front suspension" was nothing more that a splice power steering line to the original hydraulic steering and wore out suspension that had over a round of play in the steering wheel. needless to say I left it there. If you have any questions please ask. any additional pics I'll do my best to provide. it will be placed in my garage once sold and will not be driven or fooled with until the new owner picks it up. Clean Tennessee title in my name. please see my other auction as I have another of my classics for sale. thanks! On Feb-19-15 at 09:28:44 PST. seller added the following information: I've had lots of questions thrown my way in a very short time about my Toro! Like I stated in my description she's not brand new and she's sat a long time. Mechanically I feel she's sound. engine does not miss. smoke. knock. rattle. tick and does not have any horrible oil leaks. The THM 425 transmission shifts firm without jerking. no slippage whatsoever and no weird noises. The brakes stop her good. every now and then it seems there's a loss of vaccum because the pedal will get hard for a short period. The turn signal switch is loose in the column. thus I believe only the left side works. Emergency flashers . headlights . tail lights. interior and backup lights worked the last time I checked them. Fuel gauge. amp meter. temp gauge and oil pressure light works. The drivers side and both rear windows work and the passenger side front was slow. the forward inside drivers door handle needs adjusting. the other three door handles work fine. Seats. carpet. door panels. kick panels. and headliner is all there and in very good shape. one minor spot on drivers door panel and a seam on headliner needs restitched. very minor. That's about all I can recall and I'm being very thorough and truthful about this wonderful car. if you have any further questions or need pics I'll do my best to answer them. I have nothing to hide. I want your experience to be a good one. if you are nearby or want to come inspect her I have a shop with a lift and welcome you. thanks. I have the receipt for the paint. According to the vin# the trim code is a 6 which is vinyl and fabric bucket seats. I did a video of the car and took pics of underneath and the trunk. I'll try to upload or link it to the youtube video. Any further questions or requests I'll do my best to always answer honestly. I've been burned before and did not like it one bit. Check my feedback. I've never sold a vehicle that was misrepresented or that the buyer had remorse over. thanks Rich PS I also have a video on facebook under Rovers cars you can see. I also have some more pics there and adding some today. For some odd reason eBay will not allow me to enter the youtube video or link. Go to Rovers cars and you can download it from there. thanks!
