1970 Oldsmobile CUTLASS 442 CUSTOM CUSTOM OLDSMOBILE CUTLASS 442 This car is a one-of-a-kind Oldsmobile 442 convertible restomod in the Pro-Touring style. Most importantly. a high quality and complete frame-off restoration was performed over two years. Power is provided by a Joe Mondello custom-built 455 with Edelbrock aluminum heads pumping out approximately 600 horsepower and finished with custom Oldsmobile black powder-coated valve covers. a custom March anodized intake air cleaner. and a custom serpentine pulley system that was built specifically for this car. A bracket for air conditioning is in place should you want to add it on. The headers and exhaust system are coated from front to back. a custom cooling system was fitted. and the entire firewall was shaved smooth. The battery was relocated to the trunk. A four-speed automatic transmission with 2. 00-rpm stall converter sends power to the 12-bolt rear end. The car was fitted with a custom race-link front and rear suspension that plants the tires under hard acceleration. ABS Brakes of Anaheim. California supplied the custom electronic hydro-boost braking system. black power coated. The entire paint finish is in black lacquer and it took 45 days to paint this car. The stripes on the hood took three weeks alone. The convertible top is a tan cloth custom piece and the interior features Cadillac CTS white leather seats. front and back. with black piping surrounds and “442” inserts. Electronic digital gauges and a factory stock radio with digital update round out the interior. The entire car is blacked out. including the bumpers. The custom-designed Chip Foose wheels are called “Street Fighter. rdquo; and these are the first set made before they were released for sale to the public. They measure 18 inches in front and 20 inches at the rear. It is very difficult to restore a car like this because the body parts and trim pieces are virtually non-existent today and they are simply non-interchangeable with other cars.
