1961 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88 2 Door Bubble Top / Hard Top -- YAHOO PROMO CALIF CAR

Beginning as a clean, ow mileage California car, his cool '61 Olds Dynamic 88 was customized for Internet giant YAHOO during 2004 by Hot Rods & Custom Stuff, shop well know to hot rod enthusiasts for its top level Ridler award-winning creations. Following completion, AHOO used the car in a months-long promotion for the high-profile company's entry into the fast growing cell-phone business. At the end of the promotional period, AHOO gave the car away as a great prize to a very lucky contest winner. For taxation purposes, he value of the car at the time was assessed at $75,000.

During the restoration and custom build, he groovy Oldsmobile's "Bubbletop" body was straightened to perfection and refinished in House of Kolor "Passion Purple" with a silver mini flake treatment on top. The chrome was re-plated and the stainless trim was polished.

The original style interior looks virtually new and has been upgraded with the addition of a custom console containing the Kenwood touch screen audio/video controller that was installed by Haas Electronics in Culver City, alifornia. The A/V systems's console mounted touch screen operates the DVD player, lus the car's navigation system, irius/XM satellite radio unit and 10- disc CD changer, nd it is iPod compatible.Eight interior speakers and 3 trunk mounted sub woofers provide awesome sound. The trunk is fully detailed and contains the 10 disc CD changer, avigation system, wo amplifiers and a even play station II game system with wireless remotes. which is not currently hooked up.

Underhood detailing mixes chrome paint and stainless fasteners to provide tasteful good looks. The Oldsmobile's suspension system has been lowered for a great overall stance and the steering has been upgraded with an AGR Billet Cruiser steering box. The charging system includes a 140 amp Powermaster alternator and a four row radiator and dual SPAL fans handle cooling.

Rolling stock consists of a set of low-profileYokohama tires mounted on Budnik wheels, ith the rubber measuring 215/40ZR17 up front and 245/40 ZR18 at the rear. The engine was completely rebuilt in 2012.

This outstanding custom Oldsmobile was exhibited at the2004 SEMA show and it has earned numerous awards ever since at car shows in Illinois, st1>Missouri, st1>Virginia and California. Additionally this cool 88 was featured in the 2012 Oldsmar, st1>Florida OLDSMAR DAYS Parade, elebrating R. E Olds, he visionary founder of Oldsmobile.
