Oldsmobile only made 2933 442 convertibles in 1970, nd I would be curious to know how many real ones escaped the crushing jaws of the junkyard compactor! I purchased this beaufitul car about a year ago in northern Illinois from an elderly couple who were holding on to it as a lasting memory of their late son. The son was in poor health and passed about 10 years ago. The car was partially restored, nd was being cared for by the owner of a repair shop who happened to be a freind of the late son. He needed his space freed up and asked the parents if they could sell it because he could store it no longer. Reluctantly, hey sold the car to me only after I assured them that it would be completely restored to its former glory. I had planned to enjoy the car for many years, ut shortly before the restoration was finished, y family was faced with some life changing events. Sadly, have decided it would be in my best interest to sell the car.

I wanted to add just a little more information about this beautiful Lansing built car regarding the features, nd the restoration. Mostly everything in the engine bay, rom the firewall forward, as media blasted and repainted including the motor, rans, an, ore support, nd all related parts. The ram air induction air cleaner is brand new, nd functioning great as are the w-30 red inner fender wells. The 455 has many new gaskets, new oil pan, ater pump, 1 wire alternator, il pump, amp; most electrical sensors.
The interior is almost completely new minus the seats, he console and a few other pieces. Most of it was ordered from Legendary auto interiors. In fact most of the new parts on this car came from Parts place, amrazs, egendary, PGI, nd Fusicks. I should mention that the tach does not work, t may not be hooked up. I haven't taken a look to see what's going on with it. It was one of the last things on my list to address.
The trunk lid is a new GM restoration parts lid, hich I ordered before paint. The paint on the car is fantastic. I had the car professionaly painted, ll jambs included, ith PPG products and the white stripes are buried under the clear, o there is NO transition between the Rallye red and the white stripes. The paint is as smooth as silk. The car was painted with 3 coats of base, amp; 3 coats of clear. After a couple days of drying, had the hood wet-sanded with 600 grit, nd flow coated with 2 more coats of clear for a stunning finish. The entire car has been sanded with 1000, 500, nd 2000 grit sand paper and buffed to a spectacular shine.
All of the chrome / stainless trim on the car was taken off and sent to a polisher to be buffed to a mirror finish, hich is evident in many of the photos. I feel that the original trim fits better than aftermarket trim, nd makes for a more authentic restoration.
The brakes have been fitted with new wheel cylinders, ew front shoes, nd a new master cylinder up front. The exhaust starts with correct media blasted W & Z manifolds and is complemented with ALL new, ustom bent, .5" true dual exhaust with flowmaster mufflers. The car exhales by two original trumpets outback, itting under a correct cut-out rear bumper.
To get the a/c frosty cold, he new owner will need to locate some r-12 refrigerant or convert the system over to R-134 and have the system serviced. I was trying to keep the system authentic and was unable to locate any R-12.
I'll close by saying that this really is an amazingly nice machine, nd I think it will provide many decades of enjoyment to whoever is the lucky winner. I try to be very honest and forthcoming with everything in my life. I go to church every Sunday with my wife and children. I hold myself to a high moral standard and try to instill that into their lives as well. If you have any questions about the car, lease do not hesitate inquire. Thank you for your time, nd good luck!
