Beautiful example of what Olds should have built back in 1979. To start with, the pathetic 260 V8 engine was dropkicked in favor of a rebuilt 1970 Rocket 350 rated at 310 HP with the#6 heads.Mild camshaft was installed to give it that nice lope at idle,Holley intake,Edlebrock carb with modern elecrtonic choke,Mallory ignition system with 8MM wires and Heddman headers empty into a 3" stainless steel mandrel bent dual exhaust system.THM200 trans was replaced with a modern 700R4 4 speed OD unit with operating torque convertor clutch.Rear axle ratio was changed to a respectable3.73 Front disc brakes and original Cutlass ralley wheels are a nice touch. This is a loaded Brougham and has power windows and locks, tilt wheel, pulse wipers, rear defogger, digital clock, factory tach and full gauges and the unmolested dash still retains the factory installed AM/FM 8 track Stereo. The car was painted by the owner of American Auto Restoration, here in Homer Glenn, a local shop that only does classics and high end muscle cars. The paint is the original color with just a touch of metalflake and looks amazing. The car drives as well as it looks and everything operates,I am a retired GM mechanic and this was my personal car.
