1988 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser Wagon

I am offering what has to be one of the cleanest Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser Wagons available. These are a really great-looking station wagon that is highly optioned (and comfortable). I purchased this car in September of 2013 from the original owners who took delivery in Washington State. and primarily used it to travel to their Winter home in Scottsdale. Arizona. In the several years of ownership. the car did not leave Arizona. It appears to not have ever seen any Winters. as it shows no rust or corrosion anywhere in the body or chassis. The car had approx 75. 00 miles at the time of my purchase. and now reads just shy of 88. 00 miles. I will do my best to give a clear description of everything that I know about the car. I have many more photos of this car. but only can upload 24. Call or text me for additional photos. Repairs:During my ownership. I have replaced the following:Tires. AC Compressor and Dryer. Radiator. Water Pump. has had a full transmission rebuild. a head gasket. rear main seals and valve cover gaskets. carburetor rebuild. brakes. In order for the car to be smogged. the catalytic converter was replaced. In addition. the car was repainted less than one year ago (professionally stripped original paint) in the original color of dark driftwood metallic as well as correct woodgrain installed by Woodgrain for Wagons in Long Beach. CA. I also had several dented and dinged trim pieces straightened and polished. This car is highly driveable. and I would not hesitate to take this on a longer trip. Body:When the car was repainted. I tried to have all the door dings removed. There are still some. The ones that are most noticeable are: on the lower crease line on the driver's door is one about the size of a quarter. and one that is less than the size of a penny near the driver's side door lock tumbler. The rear bumper body filler cracked along the corner near the passenger side taillight. Overall. the body shows well. The stainless and chrome trim also has minor flaws (this is not a show car. but a very good-looking driver). I noticed only one small ding in one wire wheel cover. and one small scuff on another. Interior:Seats overall show very little wear. The only exception is that the nap of the velour on the driver's side seat bottom shows some wear. It's not terrible. but I feel obligated to disclose that it is not perfect. The original floor mats have some wear/stains. which can be seen in the photos. The door panels are excellent. with the exception being a tear in upper vinyl on driver's door approx 1" and a crinkle/tear in passenger side rear door that is about 3" long. The headliner is starting to loosen from the original padding. and is 'bubbling' in a couple of places. There are a few punctures in the headliner that are small and above the rear passenger seat. The third seat folds as it should and is in above average condition. The cargo area carpeting and side panels are clean and stain-free. The rear tailgate carpet and panel also shows no wear. None of the plastic interior pieces show the dryness/bloom associated with interiors exposed to high levels of heat. The gear selector endcap has cracked and has been glued back on. The steering wheel is in impressive shape. Accessories:All the power windows work. The rear window is a little slow going up. but has always worked. The power locks work. with the exception being that the rear driver's side door does not always lock on the first hit of the button(but will with two hits). The power side mirrors work. The rear window defroster works (I think! It lights up. but we don't get frost in Palm Springs). The rear view mirror auto dimmer does not seem to function. The AM/FM Cassette player receives radio. but the cassette player does not work. Sound only comes out of the driver's side speakers. Both passenger and driver power seats work. The passenger reclining seat works. All headlights. turn signals. cornering lamps. and interior indicator lights work. The fuel low light and chime work. The turn signal indicator chime works (when you leave your turn signal on too long. Grandpa). The digital clock works. The cruise control does not seem to function. The air conditioning blows icy cold. The heater works. The ashtrays (there are FOUR!) are spotless. The sunvisor vanity mirrors both light up when cover flips. The trip odometer works. The cigarette lighter works. The doorhandles all work (inside and out. including the tailgate). The original power antenna was replaced with a stainless manual antenna. The headlamp and signal light interior indicators work. The horn works. All of the original owner's manual and warranty information is in place in the glove compartment. The tilt wheel works properly. Mechanical:The car starts easily when hot or cold. It does not require any pumping of the gas. setting of choke. etc. The car tracks straight on the road without wandering. and the steering wheel is centered. with no play in the wheel. The car has an excellent ride. and is very quiet inside (although something in the rear cargo area squeaks at times and I have never been able to figure out where it is coming from). The brakes stop the car evenly and without pull from one side to the other. The engine is quiet and there is no lifter noise. The transmission shifts smoothly. and the overdrive and reverse gears work properly. Please feel free to ask any questions that you might have before bidding and before auction's end.
