Oldsmobile's 88 line got a complete redesign in 1954 which featured a more squared off body shape as well as wrap around windshields. There were 18 solid color and 18 two tone color combinations available in '54. The two-tone blue and white paint conveys a dramatic elegance that you want from an Oldsmobile. Because these are very demanding colors this is a professional respray that still has plenty of 50s-style gloss when taken out into the sunshine. Of course the tall whitewall tires continue this motif with its original. All the sheet metal appears factory original and expertly restored to show standards. Cool details like the globe hood emblem and bullet-shaped taillights remain and all the stainless trim pieces have been mirror polished, plus both bumpers are still looking like new. This is an extremely nice Olds that most passers-by will take notice of. People have a clear view of the interior so it's quite nice to see that the blue on blue wow factor continues on the inside. The moment you open the door everything looks like a well taken care of Olds. There was plenty of money invested in keeping the items like the doors panels, dashboard, and headliner still retain the stock appearance and are in wonderful condition. Oldsmobile's famous 324 Rocket V8 lives under the hood ready to drive and enjoy. It's a spirited performer on the road thanks to a broad shifting hydramatic automatic transmission. It starts easily thanks to a 12-volt electrical system and idles with a healthy rumble from the exhaust. The engine bay looks amazing with the original-style Oldsmobile green block and hand-painted letters on the valve covers. It's a comfortable cruiser thanks to power steering and aftermarket A/C & Heat plus the fact that those whitewalls look great. This is power and elegance that's ready to hit the road right now. The vehicle is road ready and certainly wouldn't be out of place at a local car show. Within the last year, the new a/c, power steering and power brakes were installed. The new upholstery was done within the past year.
