Auto restoration shop offers this 1978 Jeep AMC Wagoneer. This is a turn-key daily driving vehicle that underwent a 3 month cosmetic and mechanical restoration in my shop. I’m very happy with the end result. I found this excellent candidate stored in an aircraft hanger since the early 90’s near the high desert of Boise Idaho. The transmission started slipping so it was drained of fuel and stored under tarp until I bought it a few months ago. We brought it back to life. I was lucky enough to get this Jeep at a very cheap price as a thank you for the work I did helping the owners get most of their car collection sold at auction. Since I got it cheap. and this vehicle was in excellent original condition. I decided to spend a mound of money and time on it without fear of blowing the budget on what these are worth. Rebuilding the monster AMC 401 is very expensive amongst other things. I’ve built 4 of these Wagoneers with the 401. they are going crazy at the auctions in the past 2 years. I’m also a licensed auto appraiser. so I get good leads and come across cool stuff often in my travels. We removed the original 401. rebuilt it to stock specification. added a Holley electric choke 4 barrel carburetor. kept the stock exhaust manifolds. These 401’s are powerful and do not need a bunch of performance goodies to run. I changed the fan to electric thermostat controlled. high CFM much better over stock for hot days. Most 401’s have been robbed from the Wagoneers and built for hot rod projects. Having the original 401 is very important. adds 20% value to the vehicle per NADA. New exhaust with welded case performance muffler. sound awesome under power. but designed to be quiet at highway speeds (avoid drone). The original TH-400 automatic trans has been rebuilt. the transfer case was perfect inside. just got new seals. We rebuilt the power steering. added a 3 in lift kit with shocks. nice tow package. We rebuilt the heater and anything else that needed attention. BODY The original body is in excellent rust free condition. all original panels. frame etc. I love the original blue patina. so we added a heavy wax to bring out the shine while still retaining the original patina. We painted the roof white. it was too oxidized to save the patina. We added Linex to the rockers. there were a lot of chips. but no rust as see in the before pictures. Bush Whacker fender flares with new BFG KM2 Mud Terrain 33/12. 5/15 tires on vintage aluminum wheels. These wheels are my favorite for Jeeps. no longer in production. did take some time locating them. The interior is mostly original and in excellent shape. We did a new head liner and a few other things. look at the pics of the bare bed on the link. incredible original condition. We buffed out all the glass. it actually looks close to brand new. buffed out each piece of chrome and stainless. The photo link shows the build process. I’m very proud of this Jeep. and happy I can offer it for sale at a reasonable price. I’ve built countless vintage 4x4’s. sold them at all the major auctions many at 75-100k. When promoting those vehicles at Barrett for example. lots of compliments. but many ask why not build more driver quality 4x4’s for the normal guy. Well…. here it is! I have a clean clear WA state title in hand for this vehicle. I require a $1000 non-refundable deposit immediately after auction conclusion or full payment via bank to bank wire within 24 hours closed auction. With deposit. I allow 5 days to receive the rest. I USPS priority you the papers after funds have cleared. The vehicle or title do not leave my possession until cleared payment in full. I have a shipping broker whom has shipped dozens of vehicles for me all over the lower 48. I will put you in contact with him or work with your shipper. Shipping to Alaska or Hawaii can be done via barge shipment from Tacoma WA or to another country (5 hours each way to the dock for me) cost negotiated on that.
