2006 Freightliner Sport Chassis Mercedes Benz Powered Allison Transmission 6 spd

Our Sportchassis truck would be suited for towing larger fifth wheel vacation or horse trailers/This is a 2006 Freightliner M2 and it has a Mercedes 330 hp 1. 00 lbs of torque. It has a Allison 6 speed transmission push button selector. different from the 1 ton trucks Allison's. At 70 mph the RPMs are at 1800 as for towing a 5th wheel you won't tax the motor. We run between 60 to 65. As for ride the seats are Air ride and it has Air ride suspension. No pick-truck I have owned would never ride as good as our Freightliner. The steel suspension doesn't compare to Air ride. As for finding a used Sport Chassis ready to haul. you found it! As mentioned. all air ride - chassis. cab. and seats. The 187" wheelbase also helps as well as the 22. 5" tires. The only adjustable air is the seats. Cab and chassis are automatically set. One big difference is the shorter turning radius due to the setback front axle. Our Tow Truck is a used ’06 Freightliner M2-106 upfitted Pick Up PL-2X by Sportchassis. Our M2-106 has the MB engine. 330 horse Mercedes hooked to an Allison TRV4000 6 speed automatic. I have to pay attention to hold this truck below 70 mph. She wants to run. At 70 MPH the Mercedes is purring at 1800 RPM. There is no strain even up hill. Our truck gets 10. 5 MPG towing and 14 MPG not towing. Sport Chassis does use the Freightliner M2. but they will use an M2-106 with the 330 horse engine with Allison TRV4000 transmission. The ride is unmatched by any light duty truck. I have an F-450 for work and my Sportchassis is a far more comfortable ride. The air ride cab and air ride seats are fabulous. Best toy I ever bought.
