Project car. street legal 72 volt forklift motor on 1970 VW chassis with steel cage and roll bar. Six 12v AGM 110Ah gel batteries in series powers the motor. four speed VW transmission. reaches up to 60 mph. Range = 20 miles at highway. 10 at city . stop and go. A single 12v DeepCycle battery powers the lights. signals and radio. A flexible solar panel recharges the single deep cycle battery. On board 72v charger plugs into any available 110v outlet. two hour charging time. New York State registered as a VW with transferable registration. I have been commuting around NYC for two years. very reliable. very little maintenance required. Not advisable for extremely wet weather. Canvas body custom made by a marine canvas maker. doors zip up or down to enclose cockpit or make a T-top look. The canvas may be removed for cleaning.
