2007 Factory Five GTM Supercar1 OwnerVIN: DRMVB0000157738MOA Truly Original CarTurn Heads Like No Porsche. Ferrari. or Lamborghini Can I am selling my GTM. This car has been my baby and sole project for the last 8 years. Videos of the car can be seen here:http://youtu. be/2dOv6FgPPg0http://youtu. be/2hOXUHW02eMWe now have twins; I have no time so it has to go. That's right. I'm that guy. Here's the story. My Credentials:I am a mechanical engineer and have worked in the automotive industry most of my career. I am fortunate in my current position to have access to automotive service equipment including wheel alignment machines. diagnostic wheel balancers. brake testers. and the like. This access proved crucial during the build process of my GTM. I was able to do things like perform multiple wheel alignments to get things perfect during the stages of the build. I used a dynamic brake tester to get the front/rear brake bias set properly. adjust corner weights. etc. All of these things are very hard/expensive for someone without these resources and make a significant difference in the drivability and performance of the vehicle. Build Philosophy:My goal when building this car was to make a very fast car. obviously. but also a car that was livable. I spent a lot of time insulating the passenger compartment from heat and sound to make it as comfortable and production-like as possible. It uses a combination of Lizard Skin. Dynamat. and QuietRide products to keep things comfortable yet adds little weight to the car. The transmission is another big part of the equation. The car uses a 6-speed Porsche transmission that was originally mated to a flat-six engine. Since a flat-six has very different characteristics from a small block V8. I used the Corvette gearing as the model and re-geared the transmission. Only 2nd and 3rd gear remain unchanged from stock. but it now has gear ratios very close to the Corvette the engine came from. That means it has an appropriate first gear ratio and it cruises in 6th gear around 2000 rpm on the highway as it should. Details:The devil is in the details and here's just one of many. The car uses an unusual Y-shaped cold air intake in the engine bay. The system performs a couple of important functions. It looks like it is pulling cold air from both sides. but only left side pulls cold air from the left scoop just in front of the rear wheel. This brings smooth. cold air through the mass airflow sensor and allows the car to run smoothly. The right side is blocked from the left and behind the right side scoop there is a centrifugal fan. Inside the engine compartment there is a temperature switch that energizes the fan should the engine bay temperature exceed 140 degrees. When energized. the fan pumps cold air into the engine compartment from a cutout under the "Y" and cools the engine bay. This fan has only come on a couple of times. during stop-and-go traffic on very hot days. which means the engine bay is getting enough air and the system works as designed. The result is the car runs great when it's hot or cold out. Many more details like this are listed below. GeneralThe car is titled and licensed in Missouri as a 1966 Ford GT-40Donor Car: 2004 Corvette Coupe with 8. xx miles. It’s been inspected and licensed. drives great. shifts great. and has functioning radio and air conditioning. The doors. hood. and rear hatch open and close properly and the body panel fits are good. The interior pieces are all fit and in place. but it needs a few finishing touches inside. You’ll see the custom fiberglass roll bar covers are still bare and in primer and need to be covered. The rear firewall also needs to be covered. You can see the area where the carpet meets the doorsill needs to be covered with aluminum trim pieces that I will supply with the car. There is also a custom piece that covers that gap between the shifter panel and the rear doghouse that needs to be covered and installed. I will supply this with the car also. This is just upholstery work. You can see in the video that the door windows need to be sealed to the door at the beltline. The doors also need to be sealed to the body as well. These things aren’t hard; I just don’t have any time to do it right so I haven’t done them. History:I purchased this vehicle as a kit from Factory Five and have been the sole owner. Condition:The car has been driven and therefore has a few very small rock chips on the paint. Please ask me if you require more details. The vehicle is being sold in as is condition. Shipping and Payment:Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer though I am willing to help in any way that is reasonable. This should be discussed and agreed upon before the completion of the sale. The “winning” bidder must email me within 24 hours after the auction has ended to verify purchase and make arrangements to complete the transaction. In addition $500 must be transferred via PayPal within these same 24 hours to provide earnest money towards the sale. The remaining funds must be transferred within one week from close of auction via cashier’s check. This vehicle is also being posted for sale through other channels and I reserve the right to end the auction early. On Apr-23-15 at 09:13:44 PDT. seller added the following information:*Title clarification: In Missouri the abbreviation for a two door car is "tudor" and a four door car is called a "fodor". Therefore the title for this car states "1966 FORD TUDOR".
