The stylish lines and beauty of the Packard are so unique and gracious it would be a sin to have any custom modifications done to the outside of the car and very little was done to the nature of the interior as well. The concept of the project was to build a very rare and eye catching convertible that still keeps it's period correct appearance and luxury but yet have the drive train and suspension updated with modern components to give the car a smooth and dependable ride. After an excellent 1950 Packard convertible was acquired the body was removed from the chassis and put on a rotisserie where it could be perfected. The original chassis has been updated with a new GM subframe from a 96 Impala SS along with the rear suspension from the Impala also. The complete drive train are from the same car consisting of a fuel injected LT1 350 V8. 4L60E automatic overdrive transmission. and rear axle with disc brakes. Other features include power steering. 4 wheel power disc brakes. Vintage heat and air conditioning. tilt wheel. Dakota digital dash. electric wipers. power windows. 6 way power seat. and power top. The original hydraulic system for the power windows has been converted to GM electric along with the power top. The interior has been finished in a beautiful beige leather with all dash components being restored along with a new Hartz cloth convertible top. the body on the car is laser straight and has been painted in GM victory red with all new refurbished chrome and stainless. This is an impeccable car through and through and rides like a dream on the road. very smooth and tight.
