Description

ONCE IN A LIFETIME ACQUISITION OPPORTUNITYAN ORIGINAL PAUL NORMAND BUILD 1936 INDIANAPOLIS 500 FORD RACER "Tribute" Built by Paul Normand I am very excited to offer one of the most unique. period correct (aesthetically & mechanically) custom built pre war race cars that I have ever owned. a 1936 Indianapolis Ford Racer "tribute" built by world renowned Speedster/Roadster fabricator Paul Normand. This fabulous Indy racer "tribute" is meticulously & newly constructed (and has never been offered for public sale prior to this ebay listing) on a 1936 Ford chassis with a 1936 Ford flat head 8 cylinder motor and three speed manual transmission with an all Ford drive train utilizing ALL period correct Ford components and ABSOLUTELY no design feature of this rare racer will give away to observers that this is a modern. veritably unique reconstruction of the priceless original 1936 Ford Indianapolis Racer. a museum quality masterpiece that you can feel comfortable racing on the vintage circuits and also exhibit comfortably next to $300. 00 cars as this car is an absolute crowd pleaser! Mr. Normand is known globally in the world of hand fabrication of custom Speedsters and Roadsters and one of a kind Hot Rods and reputedly builds only one or two cars in the winter of each year. I have offered him a lucrative commission to construct a massive speedster body on my hulkish 1921 La France chain driven fire truck and he kindly responded "I don't take commissions". Mr. Normand embodies the creative spirit of every truly great artist and is not motivated by money alone to envision. design and create cars. as he only builds cars that he wants to see created. Trust me. one day books will be written about this legendary New England gentleman as his cars are voraciously collected and curated by private museums and institutions; deep pocketed collectors and fine car speculators globally. His cars are sold by world class auction venues like Mecum and Barrett Jackson with astonishing "reserve" busting results. Opportunities to acquire Mr. Normand's automotive artworks are dwindling as it is my understanding that Mr. Normand is over 70 years of age. In the very peculiar consumer age where mundane. cookie cutter mass produced kit cars can now cost upwards $100. 00 (AC Cobra replicas) it is becoming increasingly difficult or nearly impossible to find old world artisans who can manually (ingeniously) hammer. bend. manipulate and stick weld steel skin over buck molds to create unique. authentic looking beautiful and provoking cars as was executed in the golden age of custom bodied automobiles of the 1920's and 1930's as this has been professionally accomplished here with the 1936 Indianapolis Ford Racer. I have the unique distinction of having owned four Paul Normand automotive masterpieces and when I offered two of my Normand Speedsters for sale last week. they were immediately and aggressively pursued by multiple buyers nationally and internationally. but eventually both cars ended up in the most illustrious and private. mid western automobile museum/collection in the United States (of over 500 convertibles!) and all of this frenzied bidding. negotiation and ultimate sale unfolded in just under 72 hours. Remember. great cars never last long in any well publicized sales forum (and oftentimes takes years or decades for them to resurface) and I fully anticipate that my magnificent one of a kind 1936 Indianapolis Ford "Tribute" will have a new. very lucky owner in a few weeks and may be many years before it is offered to the public again. If you have any questions. offers or trades concerning my two. unique world class collector cars (and one truck) offered this week on eBay. just shoot me an email and let's see what unfolds. The 1936 Indianapolis Ford Racer is not currently street legal with it's single headlight and no signalers. But the addition of headlights and tail lights will be enough to get an authorization for street use and a title issued by your local DMV. I fully guarantee this. Thank you for reading. BELOW. A FEW PAUL NORMAND MASTERPIECES. LONG GONEThe name Paul Normand conjures up some of the most exhilarating automotive designs and construction the collector world has ever seen. Take a look below.
