Tornado Talisman GT Rare British Sports Car Beautifully Restored Ready to Race VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: VEHICLE HISTORY: This beautifully restored Tornado Talisman was purchased by the Beady Eye Vintage Triumph Racing Team (Bill Dentinger & Bob Wismer) from Canadian vintage racer Bob Grunau in 1994. They had previously restored. and were competing in a Tornado Thunderbolt and wanted to add another of the rare Tornado cars to their race stable. In 1995 they commenced a full body-off restoration. In 2004 it was done and ready to go vintage racing. The current log book shows only 6 races since 2005. the last being in 2010. They had 4 other vintage races car so this one didn’t get raced as much. although they felt it was the best handling and most fun car to race. Originally purchased in England from Gold Seal Car Co. . Ltd. . London. it initially competed in various hill climbs and race meets. In 1964 the body was destroyed and a replacement body was secured from the Tornado factory (last body produced before factory closed). It was imported to Canada in 1965 and had several owners until the Beady Eye Racing Team purchased it in 1994. MARQUE HISTORY: A small British car builder. Tornado Cars. Ltd. produced a series of sports and racing cars from 1957 thru 1964. In 1962 the company introduced a new model. the Talisman. a 4-seater GT. It featured a fastback fiberglass body. ladder type chassis. wishbone front suspension. independent rear suspension. disc brakes. and a Cosworth tuned version of the Ford Kent 4-cylinder engine.
