The Last Austin Healey Prototype Sprite Race Cars.
HAN9-R-238 - The Sebring Coupe PrototypeHAN9-R-250 - The Targa Florio Roadster (TFR7)
I am the owner of these cars and after a long and thoughtful process I have decided it's time for these two cars to go to their next caretaker.
Here is your chance to own a true collector "set".
There were only 10 "wind tunnel designed" Sprite Prototype race cars hand built with lightweight aluminum bodies at the Healey Factory. Only 4 were known to ever have factory Mechanical Fuel Injection. These are the last two and the most highly evolved of the prototypes with mechanical injection and cross flow heads, irling disc brakes, ry sump oil systems and 5 speed transmissions.
These cars are your ticket to most major vintage racing events in the world. The cars just came back from a trip to Silverstone (UK) and a show at the International Sprite Event at the Healey Museum in Holland. They have been raced somewhere at least once a year since their restorations and hold current CVAR and SVRA log books. They now sport new Dunlop Tyres (not the Hoosiers shown in the pictures).
These cars were raced by Sam and David Healey and Clive Baker (Healey Factory Driver) in 2011 and 2012 at the CVAR British Small Bore Festivals in Texas. The cars bear their signatures.
These cars have extensive well documented history that can be found on these websites: thelasthealeys.com and sebringsprite.com
I am looking for the RIGHT next owner, ot just a buyer. I have no timeline, ut when the right person(s) come along and we can come to terms including price then a deal will be struck.
I would prefer the cars stay together, ut that is not an absolute.
The cars are being sold AS-IS WHERE-IS. Buyer MUST either inspect these cars in person or send a designated representative to inspect them before a deal will be finalized. I want to be sure YOU know what you are buying so there are NO questions later.
I have extensive documentation and some key spares (injector throttle bodies/manifold, ross flow heads and Healey Wheels) that will go with these cars upon the sale.
Yes....My "Buy It Now" price is very high. But these cars are one of a kind and historically significant.Offers below the "Buy it Now" price will be considered for the right buyer. This is a process that will take some time and conversation.
I reserve the right to end this listing at any time for any reason.
Seriously interested parties should contact me by email at steve@onecoleman.com
