2. Currently
This TR4 is from my personal collection. I own a British Sports Car restoration shop (Raspi's British Imports) in Maryland. I purchased this car in 2011 from the widow of a man who bought it in 1998 from Dan Schnetta. It was shipped from Gingerman Raceway in South Haven, ichigan to New Jersey in 1998. I purchased it in New Jersey and it is currently garaged in Maryland. It runs and drives and has been taken out for exercise a few times a year. I have taken it to a few local car shows.
3. History
This car has a racing history and racing modifications. However, decided when I purchased it that it could also be a pretty cool street car. the following history is based on information that came with the car. There is strong evidence that the car was raced in the mid to late 1970s in the Midwestern United States. a log book exists from the Midwestern Council of S.C.C. (Sports Car Club). The car was owned and driven by John Turk. In the same log book there are signs that the car was raced at Bridge Hampton, oad America, nd Blackhawk Farms Raceway.
In recent times the car was owned by Dan Schnetta, ho had ties to Gingerman Raceway, e also believe that the current engin ein the car was built by Mike Belfer, robably during Schnetta's ownership. Along with the log book, he car contains various notes containing this information. we have some polaroids and other older photographs showing this car in various stages of its life as a racecar.
4. Recent Modifications and Updates I've Made to the Car
- removed the roll bar- removed the gas tank and installed a fuel cell- refinished the dash, dded a new crash pad, odified the center gauge cluster to 5 guages, nstalled new windscreen, ew seats, nd a tonneau cover- also, he car was lowered, nd the rear suspension converted to KONI tube shocks- the front suspension was converted to adjustable upper control arm brackets- the cooling system was upgraded- the electrical system was also modified and upgraded- the differential was rebuilt using a new 3.45 to 1 ring and pinion assembly- for a complete and detailed description of any and all modifications, ontact me directly
5. Chassis and Undercarriage
The car is very solid and almost completely rust free underneath, ore photos are available upon request.
