Time to let one of them go. This is one of 3 Samruais that I own and this is the nicest one of the bunch. It's a tintop that has been redone to be an offroad rig or a daily driver. It is in excellent shape for its age and runs and drives well. It is also fully loaded with about every aftermarket thing that Suzuki provided (including a/c).
Here's the rundown:
1.6L 16v engine using the Trail Tough conversion kit
Power steering and air conditioning both installed (takes extra work to get one or the other; takes a lot of work to get both on one Samurai)
Improved electric pusher fan to avoid overheating while a/c is on during 4-wheeling
ARB compressor and ARB rear locker
Stock axles with stock diff gear (SJ410 backing plates on rear for easy axle swap)
4.16:1 transfer case with reverse S-shift pattern
Rear CV driveshaft. New U-joint recently installed.
Spring over lift with Trail Tough shackles and Bonz-Eye springs
33x10.50 BFG muds with only 100 miles on the tires! The wheels are 15x8 aluminum. 1.5" spacers.
88.5 Samurai dashboard with improved a/c vents and stereo console
EXTREMELY rare 88.5 instrument cluster with tachometer
Check engine light is fully functional and can relay engine codes (OBDI)
Factory targa bar stereo overhead
Factory chrome bumpers and brush guard that have been recently re-chromed (yes factory!)
EXTREMELY rare tiltmeter and altimeter from 86 model
All gauges are functional (improved LED lights installed in dash)
Optima batteryPetroworks 15 gal fuel tank with internal fuel pump and improved baffling
Improved alternator (output ~70A)
Tow bar bracket installed for flat towing (tow bar not included)
2" receiver front and rear for towing or removable winch
Newer black paint (original paint was also black)
Essentially rust free (there is some surface rust seen inside the rear wheel wells that's it; this vehicle originated in CA and I bought it in WA where it stayed until the last 3 years)
The Samurai runs and drives great. Fly into Denver and drive it to Portland, aine if you'd like. Is the car perfect? No. Here are things to be addressed at some point:
The motor does consume some oil. Maybe one or two quarts per oil change.
Cylinder compression is even but hovers around 125-150 psi.
The transfer case leaks a bit around the speedo cable
Front driver's fender flare has a tear. I've included a used one that just needs to be painted. The driver's seat has two small tears on the side.
The hood has a dent that had a poor attempt to be repaired. There is also a small dent in the rear-left corner.
The new hood liner is in good shape but needs to be re-glued to the roof.
Two winters ago, he a/c quit blowing cold air. It was recharged, orked for the summer and then went dead over the winter. There is a small leak that needs addressed. I guarantee you that the a/c does work but the small leak needs to be found first.
Also, will include the following if the price sold is $8k or higher:
I have a complete a/c system and almost all of the parts are brand spanking new (evaporator, ondenser, omputer, ompressor, tc.). This is a Suzuki system with the original Suzuki box that it came in.
New aftermarket fender flares that are 3" wider than stock.
Please email me with questions.
