First off this is not your average "throw it together" rat rod. This is a profesionally built bare bones rat rod without heat,AC,wipers or powersteering. The truck started life as a 1955 International Harvester Indiana farm truck and that's exactly how I left it I have not repaired the body at all and the paint apears to be original. The only modifications to the body were done to the bed, he bed was cut 12'' shorter and the floor was raised up to accommodate the custom air bag suspension in the rear.the chassis is mostly the original Itnernational Harvister frame that has been boxed in the front and channeled / Z'd in the rear to give it that perfect low ride with the original International straight axle on top of the frame in the front with a completely custom suspension there as well. The air bags are at a set hight without a pump but all the lines are there to either hook up your own pump or put a tank and solinoids on it. The engine is a low mile (78,000 miles) 1979 Cadillac eldorado 425ci big block with a NEW Edelbrock performer series carb, custom built merge collector headers and Johnson outboard engine cover intake that ties the whole truck together. The engine is cooled with a large aluminum racing radiator with and electric fan that keep it running nice a cool. The trans is a T400 with overdrive linked up to a ford drum break 8.8 rear axle with 3.55 gears. This truck was built to cruise and it does its job well, t drives comfortably and steers easily and brakes well due to a standard GM power brake booster/master mounted in the rear under the frame with adjustable proportining valve. Both sets of wheels seen in the pictures will come with the truck. 22" Chrome wheels and 16" Black steel wheels with 22" tires, he ride hight is the same for both sets of wheels. The interior is once again "Bare bones". Grey carpet floor except for the 55 gallon drum cut in half to make the trans cover. and the custom machined shifter arm coming thru the rivited aluminum plate linked to the custom alumnim shifter housing. The gauges are from hudson and are all functioning except for the speedo, all it needs is a standard gm cable but I never got around to finishing up that part of it because I would just use my phones gps to monitor speed, he seats are out of a 1998 ford explorer and do not have seat belts but that is still legal due to the fact that it was not standard equipment in 1955.
I have only had the time to drive this truck about 150 miles, this is the reason im selling it. I titled it in my name and it had the proper inspections done etc etc with no issues whatsoever, insurance was also easy. THIS TRUCK HAS A CLEAN INDIANA TITLE THAT IS IN MY NAME.RAT ROD'S are a very popular form of old school hot rodding and are very fun to own because there is always a way to make it better or change this or that you always have something to tinker on. If you want to... If there is anything you have a question about or would like to contact me for any reason you can call or text me any time at (260) 443-2393
