Description

I purchased this car at a salvage company's auction with the intention of using parts for my 2006 Civic Hybrid. When I bid on the car, knew it was for parts only because the insurance company stated the it had been vandalized. I looked at the pictures and could not see signs any damage except all 4 tires and wheels were missing. I bid on the car for the IMA battery and the transmission to use at a later time in my car. My transmission was shuttering on start up and the battery is always good to have on standby. When I won the car and got it home, charged the 12 volt battery and started the engine. After running at 2500 RPM for about 8 minutes, he IMA battery came to a full charge. I live in the country, o I drove it with the 4 donuts for about 25 miles. Car performed great, ir blows cold, adio works, ll four power windows work from drivers door, nd from their respective door. Power locks work, nbsp;power mirrors work, ruck releasd and fuel door release work. I have not found any sign of damage to the car other than a small dent on the right front fender. When I picked up the car, he loader operator picked it with a huge loader and sit it straight on the ground without tires and wheels. When he pulled the forks from under the car, t pull the front bumper off. The bumper has a fairly big scrap on the right side, ut could possibly still be used. When I seen the condition of this car, began researching transmission problems on GREEN HYBRID FORUM and found out that changing the transmission fluid would possibly work and it did after the dealer pumped the old fluid out and replaced it with new. I had priced a used transmission from savage yards and the cheapest I found was over and $1000 and no warranty. Dealer transmission is over $1800. IMA battery new is over $2000. Engine computer is over $1300. Since I have fixed the major problems and have learned how to get advice from the Hybrid forum, decided that I could't part out this car due to the good running condition it is in. If anyone knows how to get the parts only restriction lifted, his could be cheap and great transportation. I did call my insurance agent, ho was once and adjuster, nd asked him if was possible in Alabama, nbsp;He had never heard of it being done, ut who knows; They might declare it salvage and change it in some other state.
Car can be picked up at my home a few miles outside of Russellville, labama.
