Description

This will make a great project car and it is so worth restoring. The body is very straight. This car is the most desirable of the Nash Metropolitans. it is an original convertible with the desirable wing windows and trunk lid which were only available from 1959-1962. The earlier models trunk could only be accessed by folding down the back seat and going in head first into the trunk. not a flattering position for most of us. The model number confirms that the car is an original convertible since a Model #561 is the factory model number of a convertible. The entire production of the Nash Metropolitan. manufactured from 1954 - 1962 is a mere 94. 68 compared to several million Ford Mustangs. Of this total. it is estimated that only 7. 53 convertibles were produced with the trunk lid and wing windows. and it is expected that there are less than a thousand left. Parts for these cars are available from more than one supplier dedicated to the preservation of the Metropolitan. There is a passionate and loyal following for the Metropolitan. The top bows for the convertible top are present which are hard to find since those chopping their top off of their hardtop also want them. It has an engine and a transmission. Hopefully the photos portray its general physical condition well but feel free to ask us questions or for more photos. We do not know the mechanical condition nor do we know any history but fair to say. it needs a complete restoration. however. it does not appear to have been monkeyed with. just parked and left. We bought the car to save it and get it into the hands of someone that could restore it. This car is well worth restoring. A restored convertible at auction can easily fetch $40. 00. and a beautifully restored convertible brought in excess of $60. 00. The tires hold air (although at least one has a very slow leak and has to be aired up once a month). nbsp;the car can be put in or out of gear and it can be rolled. It is currently being stored in a garage. We have a clear Kansas Title in our name for the car that will be transferred to the new owner. Body # 64342. Model #561. Trim# T900. Paint # P914-P912. Chassis E64319. Engine 15F-N-H5345. Previous buyer stopped communicating and never paid or came by to pick it up.
