1964 American LaFrance 900 Series Pumper Description The American LaFrance Fire Engine Company was one of the oldest fire apparatus manufacturers in America. With roots that go back to approximately 1832, he companies that went on to become American LaFrance built hand-drawn, orse-drawn, nd steam-powered fire engines. MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to be offering the 1964 American LaFrance 900 Series Pumper Firetruck you see pictured. “Engine 95″ is being offered as is – not in running condition. This massive pumper is the wide-cab design, 6′ long and still has a firehouse roll and additional hydrant extensions on the driver’s side. This vehicle did not run when it was brought to us but has been in storage a number of years and will need new batteries, resh gas and a minimum of the carburetors gone through. This highly original firetruck is finished in red, ith white and chrome accents. The body is solid. As the pumper is mostly original, he paint is original and it shows its age. All of the lights and sirens appear to be intact. The firetruck can has a 700 gallon water tank capacity and can pump up to 750gpm @ 150lbs of pressure. The interior of the cab is also original, ith a driver’s bucket seat and a bench seat across the rest of the cabin. The rear glass window is a slider. The dashboard houses all of the original gauges and Motorola Communications CB radio. It should be noted that the firetruck has an air horn and air brakes. The LaFrance is powered by a Continental 608 cubic inch, traight six cylinder gas engine, ated to a 4-speed manual transmission. Beneath the firetruck sits a Detroit Automotive “No Spin” Differential, odel H116 and a set of 20″ wheels wrapped snug in 10.00-20 tires. The firetruck runs on a 12 volt system and requires two 12v batteries. As mentioned, his legendary LaFrance Firetruck is currently inoperable. The possibilities are endless!
