The Reserve price is $7K below NADA & Hagerty price guides for a Transtar in this fine condition. Just over 200 2E11's built in 56, ccording to The Studebaker museum archives.
Rare, ate 1956 model Transtar 2E11 with original 8 lug Wheels (first year). About as close to original as you can get with a Stude. 8ft bed by 52"wide. Everything works as it should. Currently New York state inspected and on the road . I have owned and have been the caretaker for this Stude for 5 years. I purchased it from an Estate. The previous owner ( A vintage car collector) had passed away before completing its restoration. This Transtar had already received an extensive professional paint and body restoration in its original color that totaled more than $15K including many replacement panels, loors, teps, ear fenders etc.New rear Leaf springs. It was sitting in a garage for about a decade before I took over and continued the restoration.

All gauges, witches & sending units rebuilt or replaced from Studebaker international.
NOS door strikers
New correct mirrors
New Clutch
NEW NOS ENGINE LONG BLOCK, ust over 250 miles on new Engine.
Original radiator cleaned and tested.
New Door Seals.
Too many smaller new parts to list.
Optional equipment:
Original padded dash cover.
Electric wipers, ork
Hill Holder. (Not currently connected) comes with the simple linkage Rod.
Excellent vintage seat belts
Climatizer Heat & Defrost, orks.
I was fortunate enough to come across one of the last if not the last remaining NOS Commander engines out there. I choose new over rebuilding the original.
The new engine has the Clover stamp ( pictured) that Studebaker used to designate a replacement engine. The replacement engines for trucks were built with better rings and bearing then stock. A respected national award winning Studebaker collector in Virginia sold me the engine. He had it in dry storage since he bought out multi dealership inventories in the late sixties . The engine is still in the break in stage and runs excellent. Gear box (3 speed) is in great shape as is the rear ( I think its a 4.11 ratio). I added an electric fuel pump for quick starts since I do not drive this Stude that often and only on nice days.
The Paint is a strong 8 with only a few minor scratches and imperfections ( pictured) This truck turns heads where ever it goes and is worthy of attention at any local show or event.
The Cooker Tires have about 1000 mile on the, pare wheel included without a tire.
All Glass is original except Driver wing window. windshield has scratches, iper mark on Passenger side plus DE-lamination whiteness that is on the bottom and does not interfere with Drivers view. Door glass is solid with some edge chips. All the window mechanisms work fine.
FYI, ts just a removable Cling of the Bomber image on the drivers door.
I am currently driving and enjoying this Truck but have too many other projects and vintage cars and need the room. The front suspension is getting a bit soft and could benefit from having the Front Leaf springs annealed or replaced with new bushings in the next year in my opinion, his is about the only part of the truck that has not been thoroughly gone thru. exterior door lock key fits and turns but is not working, ould just be the linkage has come off. I have not had need for it, o its been that way for awhile. SEE VIDEO BELOW
