Here is a great hot rod, at rod project for someone who loves Studebakers or just wants something different. The Commander Hardtops are few and far between. We bought the car and used the automatic transmission, nd column in another car we are restoring. The first picture is one of these models restored to perfection. The second picture is one that has the 1951 Bullet nose front end. This was our inspiration!
Our idea with this hardtop was to build a hot rod with a modern engine etc. For those out there that like the look of the Bullet nose cars, he hood, ront fender, ullet nose, tc from a 1950 to 1951 will bolt right on. Same for the front end of other 52-54 Studebakers. It rolls and steers but no brakes working. There is rust in the rockers, runk, loors, ut everything else including the doors appear to be solid. The trunk floor looks good where the seams meet the inner fender panels. The engine, utomatic transmission and automatic steering column have been removed and we have used the transmission in a restoration of another car.
We have all the chrome and stainless window and body trim. It needs to be restored. We have the complete grill, eadlights. We don not have the tail lights. We do not have the front seat. We do have a 3 speed over-drive trans and column we can include if someone wanted to go stock. Windows roll up and down.
Please take the time to look at the pictures be asking a question. Folks you have one shot at this car. If no one steps up at this price, hen we will be removing the body and going to a bare metal street rod build. The car is located in Bremerton, ashington.
