2012 Kentucky Speed Way Inaugural Pace Car—Rare—1 of 43 Convertibles

If you are going to buy a sports car buy a limited production model—if you can find one. This Mustang is rarer than a Shelby GT500 or GT/CS Mustang!!!

History of the Car

This is one of 46 Pace Cars (43 Convertibles) that were built by Ford Motor Company for the inauguration of the Kentucky Speedway in 2011. This is Number 38 of the 46 built for the inaugural event and race. Convertibles are equipped with a 5.0 liter, 12 horsepower V8 engine, .5 inch mandrel-bent exhaust, oil-over MacPherson strut front suspension as well as a custom exterior package that delivers a pedestal spoiler, ide scoops and a deck lid face panel.

I bought this car new in June 2012 from Autoway Ford in Bradenton, L. The dealership took the pace car stripe kit off of the car before it was sold. (I included a couple of pictures of the convertible Pace Car as it appeared with the stripe kit at the inaugural event.) The stripe kit is available from the company that made them for about $700 if you wish to put the pace car striping back on the vehicle. I have the contact information for the company that made the strip kit if you would like it.

I will try my best to describe the Mustang in detail and want you to appreciate the exceptional vehicle you are bidding on.

Vehicle Condition

General

The Mustang is in immaculate condition and has always been garaged at my home. It has never seen snow or salt since it has always been a Florida car. It has always been adult driven and never raced or abused and has never been wrecked or in the body shop for any reason. All service has been performed by the local Ford dealer and has been performed according to the maintenance schedule recommended by Ford Motor Company. All maintenance records will go with the car. The Mustang has a little over 21,000 miles on it and has had a pampered life!!

Body, aint & Convertible Top

Body panels are all straight and are in factory alignment. Hood, oors and trunk all open and close as they did when it was delivered from the factory. The Performance White paint shines and has no areas of fading, racking or repair. There is one minor ding on the front left bumper that was transport damage on the vehicle when I bought it new. Please see the picture.

The cloth convertible top is in pristine condition and is rarely lowered. There are no cuts tears or wear areas anywhere. The convertible top boot is still in the plastic and has never been on the car. The mechanicals for the power top all work perfectly.

Interior

The interior is in excellent condition and the car has never been smoked in. The seats have no rips, ears or scratches in the leather and show only minor wear from use. The Mustang seat covers were put on to protect the bolsters from wear. Both the driver and passenger power seats work as delivered from the factory. The carpet is clean with no stains, ips or wear other than what you would expect for a very low mileage car.

The dash and associated panels (center radio/environment controls, onsole) are all in perfect condition. The console lid has the official Pace Car plaque. The stereo is the “Shaker 500” version with the Sirius XM feature and all of the speakers operate as installed at the factory. The SYNC system on the car works perfectly.

The car has ambient lighting that the owner can change the ambient light color on the instrument cluster and floor lighting. It also has the illuminated “MUSTANG” door sills and cup holders.

Gauges all work perfectly as do the power windows, ocks.

I have two sets of keys with the remotes incorporated onto the keys. The remotes both work as new. All of the original owner’s manuals are in the glove compartment.

Engine/Transmission

The Ford factory 5.0 Coyote engine runs strong and has had all oil changes and maintenance performed. It is NOT been reprogrammed or modified in any way. The balance of the 5 year 60,000 mile factory power train warranty will transfer to the new owner and I will be happy to assist the buyer with whatever paperwork Ford Motor Company requires to transfer the warranty. The 6 speed manual transmission shifts smoothly and the clutch operates perfectly.

Wheels/Tires

The 19” factory wheels are in good condition with the exception of the right rear which has a small curb rash. Please see the picture. The tires are the original Pirelli P-Zero-Nero (Y-Rated) tires with about half of the original tread remaining. The tires have been rotated according to Ford’s recommended schedule.

Title

I have a clear Florida title in hand. I will also provide the winning bidder with a bill of sale. The license plates do not go with the car and are the property of the seller.

Warranty

The vehicle will come with the remainder of the 5 year/60,000 mile factory power train warranty as mentioned above. There are no other warranties, xpressed or implied, y the seller.

Terms of Sale

Payment of the winning bid price is required within3 days of the close of the auction. I expect payment in the form of a Cashiers Check and require a name and contact phone number of a bank officer at the issuing bank to verify the authenticity of the Cashier’s Check. (Sorry for the inconvenience but the scammers are very good at replicating Cashier’s Checks.) Transportation is the responsibility of the purchaser. I will be happy to store the vehicle in my garage for up to 7 days after payment to facilitate shipping.

The vehicle is for sale locally and I reserve the right to cancel/end the auction at any time. PLEASE DO NOT BID IF YOU CAN NOT PAY THE BID PRICE.
