Description

Thank you for checking out my listing. Just a few words about me before I tell more about this Trabant. I was born and raised in Hungary. My first car was a Trabant. I had it when I was 12 years old. I fell in love with it and I am still in love with these cars. I have imported 18 Trabants to the United States in the past few years. Back home in Hungary people taking them to the junk yard and destroying them. I would like to save as many as possible. I figured they will be in good hands here. Also, s I know American guys love their cars / toys. Well, rabants are awesome little cars and lots of fun to have play with them. Out of the 18 Trabants this is the last one I have left. I was going to keep this one for my self because it's a very rear and sweet piece. But the family is growing and I could use some extra $. I hate to see it go but here is your chance to own a piece of Cold War history. Trabants were produced in East Germany, DR, rom 1957 through 1991. This is the people's car, uch like West Germany's VW, hat East Germans drove through the Berlin Wall after the collapse of communism in November 9, 989. Trabants were made of Duroplast, hich is a cotton based resin compound similar to fiberglass that is weather resistant, ery strong and rust proof built on a steel pan, uch like the Beetle. It has an aluminum 26 hp 600cc aircooled 2 cylinder 2 stroke engine mounted to a 4 speed, ith reverse, ront wheel drive transaxle. Trabis are very dependable and reliable. There are no pumps, .e. fuel, ater or oil to maintain in any Trabants. They are fun to drive, et good mileage @ 35mpg +, andle extremely well, re excellent in snow and weigh only 1350lbs. They will cruise at 60mph all day and can do 70mph+ for short stretches.
Additional Facts and History That Makes This Car Unique:

The odometer reads 46k Km that's about 30,000 miles. Boasts of original seats, oor panels, loor mats and accessories. What I personally really like about this Trabis is the front and rear bumper and the aluminum door handles, irrors. This Trabi is very solid and runs and drives great. It has the original drive train and trim, ow back seats, riginal steering wheel, riginal jack and spare etc. It has a new 6 volt battery, 0/1 oil/gas ratio engine.
