Description

Mint condition Supercharged 2008 Audi S5, nly 42K miles, ith premium 500 watt Bang and Olufsen sound system, avigation, lue tooth, eated seats, ipod/iphone/android/external usb drive port for playing music, eated auto folding mirrors, ear view cam.
I bought the car in 2012, ith an extended warranty (Carchex' top warranty) for 4 years / 60,000 miles. Warranty still active. Here is everything I did to the car:
I bought the following extras/mods for the car:
  • PES Supercharger kit with stage one pulley (5psi), iquid/air inter-cooler, ulleys anodized to reduce belt wear.
  • AWE S-flo intake
  • PES custom tune for the supercharger kit + AWE intake, lashed on to stock ECU
  • Custom 2.5 inch exhaust
  • Custom modified stock mufflers (opened them up, an thicker 2.5 inch pipes, welded back shut. Gives a very slightly louder than stock sound, long with the performance benefits. super sleeper). I also have magnaflow mufflers if you want to be loud, prefer sleeper
  • Custom solution for early carbon fouling problem! My Tuner uses this set up for 1000hp+ cars, 'll describe this below.
  • NX Express 8 nozzle (properly sized) water/methanol injection kit, ith stage 3 controller.
  • Innovate Air/Fuel Gauge
  • Southbend DXD clutch kit with stock flywheel, o retain stock clutch/drivetrain feel
  • VAGcom cable and software
  • clear bra protection film on bumper, ront half of the hood, ront half of the fenders, nd the side mirrors.
The car is in great shape, andles like a dream and drives just like stock until you jam the gas pedal down. Then it pulls like a beast. Tons of torque instantly available. Easily a daily driver. I stuck with the stage 1 5-psi pulley (you can go to 7-psi or 9-psi) It's not an on-the-edge track only car or anything like that. I've had several performance and modded cars, nd this is the best vehicle I've owned so far, ands down. Getting it set up just right took a long long time, ad to log several runs and get it re-flashed twice to account for the AWE s-flo intake, outhBend sent me the wrong clutch kit the first time, tc. You'd be skipping all that headache and getting it ready to drive, nd at a much lower cost than if you did all this yourself (You're looking at ~$20K to do all this to a stock car).
The fouling/carbon buildup solution: So, s most here already know, ou get fouling buildup early, t robs you of some horsepower, nd then it gets bad enough to throw a misfire check engine light every now and then. The cause of the fouling is mainly the dirty recirculated air from the crankcase. Engines have a line going from a nozzle on the crankcase to the intake to provide the needed vacuum to vent that air out. Problem is, hat air that gets pulled from the crankcase will be dirty from the combustion process. That is why people put an oil catch can in that line, o try to catch as much of that junk as possible before the air goes back into the intake and into the engine, educing your octane rating. Unfortunately, n oil catch can by itself does not solve the fouling problem on these engines. So what my tuner did, s for the custom exhaust we used an x pipe, nd he tapped it right at the x joint, and ran the venting line from the crankcase to that tap instead of into the intake. So the exhaust pulses provide the needed vacuum instead of the intake! The dirty air never goes back to the engine. In addition, e went with an 8 nozzle direct port injection system for the water/methanol, nstead of spraying it into the intake. So, he source of fouling is gone, nd now we have water/methanol going over the valves to provide the missing cleaning effect from previous non-FSI design engines. When I got the car, n a couple of months I felt the power go down and then got the check engine light. When we installed all the mods, e cleaned out the the buildup first, nd the problem has not reoccurred since then.
Repairs made in the first year (2012):
The automatic door sensor for the passenger door went out, ad it replaced through the warranty. My rear view camera stopped coming on, turns out there is a sensor on the transmission that detects when you go into reverse and that signals the rear view camera to go on, nd that had gone bad. The dealer dropped the transition, eplaced the sensor and that fixed the problem (again, nder warranty). The gas tank door opening mechanism was sticky and hard to open, ad that replaced through the warranty as well. From then on just regular scheduled maintenance visits until this year.
Repairs made 2015:
A couple months ago during scheduled maintenance / inspection I was told the clutch slave cylinder had a slight leak, lthough a bit skeptical, I got that replaced. My serpentine belt was also showing a bit of silver color from one of the pulleys, took the car to my tuner and he anodized a previously un-anodized pulley on the supercharger, eplaced the two tensioner system pulleys and put in a new belt. I still have the previous one, hich is in great condition.
I like to change my oil a bit more often than the recommended schedule, but that's is just me being OCD. For the water/methanol injection fluid, a lot of folks I know use windshield wiper fluid, ut I don't, use Devilsown Brew.
I bought this car from Florida and had it shipped to Plano, exas. I can help recommend shipping companies as needed.
This car is also for sale locally and this auction may end early if a local sale takes place.
