With my recent engagement comes a change of priorities and a list of upcoming expenses that grows by the day (ring, edding, oneymoon, ouse, aily driver…) so I am forced to sell my “toy” 1995 BMW M3. She has been a great car and though it makes me sad that her proceeds will likely go to purchase furniture, t makes my fiancée happy so the car must go.
I bought the car in March 2013 from a gentleman out of Oregon that had absolutely babied the car. He was a BMW Car Club of America member as was the owner before him. Not too dissimilar from me, he arrival of his first child forced him to sell the car. He performed almost all of the modifications listed below and I have the receipts and paperwork for everything, ncluding the original window sticker on the car. The story is that he took the stock car to an autocross event one day and got the itch so he took it to a well-respected shop called Matrix Integrated, nc. in Portland, regon for upgrades. Matrix installed all of the items indicated below but before the car ever saw the track again, he first baby arrived and I became the new owner.
Since my ownership, have taken the car to MotorSport Ranch in Cresson, X two times. That is the extent of its track time. Though it was an absolute blast, ork travel and living too far from the track kept me away. I bought the car with 74,686 miles on it and it has just under 79k miles on it today. In my ownership, had Jeff Keesee at Clown Shoe Motorsports in Dallas do a S52 engine swap, pgrade the cooling system and install long-tube headers. Like the previous owner, hoped to spend more time on the track with this car but have not had the time so in total she has two road course days (~8 30-minute sessions in total) and one autocross day (with the previous owner).
The 1995 M3 was the first year of the e36 chassis and only year of OBD1 which I view as a big plus as the electronics are much more simple than OBD2+ models. The list of modifications below make this an extremely fun car to drive that moves quick, urns true, tops fast and sounds great and the major maintenance items that have been performed should make it that way for time to come. That said, lease keep in mind this is not a brand new car but instead a well-maintained 20-year old car. This car has been largely issue free for all owners to date but older cars, articularly European ones, an act up at any time. This car is being sold AS-IS and there is no expressed or implied warranty or guarantee. I am happy to take the car to a reputable shop with a reasonable proximity for a pre-purchase inspection at the buyer’s expense.
This car is in great shape inside and out. She is accident free and a solid driver with precise, risp shifts. All systems work as intended including A/c, ower windows, unroof, tereo, tc. I would rate her 8/10 on both exterior and interior. The only damage is a minor dent on the rear bumper (see last picture)that occurred at the inspection shop (though they deny it). The gorgeous Avus Blue shines like new and has few of the expected road debris chips. There are no error/ fault codes and all electronics work properly. The interior has minimal signs of age or wear and the Vader seats are in perfect working order. Note these are the manual seats which are much preferred (and valuable aftermarket) as the electric seats are prone to issues.
