DZ stamped original 302 engine. Very nice unmolested Z28 equipped with power brakes, enter console with rally guage package, m radio, urst shifter, uick-ratio steering, ear bumper guards, L2 hood, nd Z28 hood and deck lid stripes. Painted in its original Daytona Yellow color with a standard black vinyl interior. This is your opportunity to own one of the most desired American Pony Cars ever built. The main reason the Z28 is so coveted by collectors is the 302 powerplant that Chevrolet built exclusively for the Z28. Built for Trans AM racing which at the time had a maximum cubic inch limit of 305 cubic inches, hevrolet's 302DZ engine is considered to be one of the best performing small block engines ever produced. Chevrolet used a 4.00'' bore and a 3.00" stroke resulting in an oversquare combination which means this is a very high revving engine that has a lot of top end power. Chevrolet rated this engine at 290 horsepower at 5800 RPM and 290 ft. lbs of torque at 4200 RPM. What wasn't reported was that at 7000 RPM this engine produced 350 Horsepower! The modified Z28's used in Trans AM races were producing around 450 horsepower! These engines are built with a "30/30" solid lifter camshaft, .02" intake valve and 1.60" exhaust valve double hump cylinder heads, nd a Holley 800 cfm dual feed carburetor sitting on top of a special aluminum intake manifold. Z28's also offered better handling than the base camaro. Both front and rear suspensions were upgraded, heels were upgraded to 15", uicker ratio steering was added, ront disc brakes, wheel disc brakes were offered, nd finally a heavy duty radiator was installed.
