THE RENOVATION: Our update team was led by my wife who is a fashion Designer and Stefan Huewe renowned genius mechanic of Huewe Motor Sports, harlotte, C.We wanted to keep it as built, ut with a sophisticated and understated new aggressive look that we felt Ferrari might do today. After all, his is the Sport version not the Executive,so we thought it could benefit from a little tougher look, hile still retaining the subtle essence of the original as designed by Pininfarina.
HISTORY: The Car was a Corporate Show car at the DFW Texas Auto Show in 2006 and was bought by an NFL Player of the Houston Texans.I bought the car in 2011 with 36,000 miles. Since, put a little over 4000 miles a year on it as a good weather only driver on weekends. We Planned the Mods for a few years.
2014-16 EXECUTION OF GAME PLAN: First and foremost: mechanical. We began by improving on the one area Stefan felt Ferrari could have done better. "The Breaks"Thus, e installed the Formula Dynamics Heavy Duty Break System at a cost of $5000. New Rotors, pacers, tainless Steel Lines, eramic Pads, ugs.Beyond the sure footed security, he road handling now with a wider stance improved stability, hen coupled with Perelli P Zero's. We Installed a K&N air filter andset the car up on a 2000 mile oil change regime with Red Line. It was major overkill, nbsp;for the low milage, ut really an inexpensive way to insure that beautiful twin overhead cam engine bathed in stress free luxury. Next "The Clutch" with 65-70% wear at 45,000 miles we decided to put a new one in, nbsp;for piece of mind since I live 150 miles from Charlotte. Next "The Paint" It's hard to believe but this was just done, ven though I knew I was moving. I just had to complete it. And wanted to sell it, t its best to a new deserving owner. Thus, e replaced all the faded emblems,(a new blue and red corporate emblem adorns the tip of the hood, orry but the picture was not included here) and weeliminated a few dings, ll minor scratches, nd simply painted out the body seam visible on lighter color cars--a constant complaint on Maserati Life Owner's Forum. The biggest change is the all black high-gloss grill with graphite Trident. By eliminating the chrome grill surround, his created a larger grill and most importantly, he new signature aggressive image we felt this Maserati Sport GT needed to achieve the look of today! Finally, e iron paint coated the rims in graphite and re-polished the lamp lenses and then painted them in a light smoke color to give the car what my wife calls "haunting eyes." For continuity we painted some other elements in the smoke graphite much like Mercedes does in their "black series" models. To further this look, e have a detachable rear spoiler that mounts with non-damaging paint tape for those aggressive weekend rides. (a picture with it is included, therwise it is located in the trunk with a red Maserati trunk bag filled with goodies, s a present to the new owner.
