Description

1942 Packard 160 Seven Passenger Sedan. This is a good running 1942 Packard. It has the original drive train and can be driven. It is currently roadworthy and is registered, icensed, nd insured. The car has a unique State of Idaho history. Some of the history is documented and some of it is a verbal history from prior owners. First, lease look closely at all of the photos. The body numbers identify my Packard as a 5 to 7 passenger sedan, nd that it was the 142 Packard 160 built in 1942 with the 356 CI engine used in the 160 and 180 series in 1942. The reserve is well under the cars value. The history: The prior owner stated that the car was purchased in Boise, daho by an Idaho governor who had the sunroof installed. He would use the car in parades and during political campaigns. With the sunroof opened, he governor would stand and wave to crowds along the parade route. As the years passed, he Packard went into the State of Idaho Motor-pool, nd was eventually given to the Eastern Idaho Voc. Tech College. I have the title indicating that the car belonged to the Eastern Idaho College and the registration showing the Idaho License plate was "EIVTS 1" from 1983. The car was sold and I purchased it from the heirs of Mr. Roy Allen Brown of Malad, daho. Over all the Packard is in very good condition for being 75 years old. It starts easily, oesn't over heat and sounds good. It shifts smoothly and the brakes work, ncluding the emergency brake. The amp gauge, emp gauge, nd oil pressure gauge work properly. The gas gauge doesn't work. Most of the lights work properly, ncluding the turn idicators, nd emergency flasher. Most of the original glass is in place and in useable condition. The flat glass in the driver's side doors has cracks. The interior is in good condition, ut is not original. Please look closely at the interior photos. The body is very straight. The doors align well and open and close properly. The exterior body panels are in very good condition and the paint is driver quality. There are old patch panels in the trunk floor, ut overall the floors are very solid. The frame is excellent. The tires are older, ut in useable condition. The Packard came with "air-conditioning," but is missing one label and some air-conditioner parts. The car is missing the 160 insignia on the passenger's side of the hood. The passenger's side taillight lens is missing. I have the bezel. It also comes with the original radio and a 1946 Packard radio. I have a 100% positive feedback score on Ebay with over 850 positives and no negatives and I want to be sure the new owner knows exactly what they are buying. If you have less the than 5 positive feedbacks on Ebay, lease give me a call be for bidding. My phone number is (801) 745-5835. If you have any questions, lease call. I love to talk about my old cars, nd I will gladly answer any questions you have regarding my Packard. I will assist the shipper you select in shipping the car anywhere in the world.
