This classic station wagon was owned by the same family for 60 years, ntil it was purchased by the current owner, to restore it to it's original glory, nd preserve it for future generations. Starting in 2010, he Woody underwent a complete, rofessional frame off restoration by one of the premier restoration shops in the North East, yannis Vintage Auto.
The entire car was disassembled and sandblasted down to clean metal, nd the wood body carefully dismantled, aving all the original metal brackets, heel well hardware, nd tailgate assembly, inges, hains, nd catches. New metal fenders, heel wells, unning boards, ood, nd windshield frame were primed, illed, nd professionally painted, hen clear coated as well, efore assembly.
The cowl was also prepped and painted, hen clear coated, s well., hen re- attached to the newly sandblasted, rimed, nd painted original equipment new frame.
The Professionally reproduced custom Pleasantville MFG. wood body was finish sanded, he coated with ten coats of Epiphanes dutch spar varnish, ith fine sanding between each coat. All the original wood body connecting hardware was treated the same as all the steel body parts, ith primer, iller, nd multiple coats of gloss black paint, nd clear coat. The body was then carefully assembled by a professional wood worker.
The original seat metal was also blasted, ainted, nd then supplied with new springs, nd professionally upholstered, y Lebaron and Bonney, f Amesbury. The two jump seats were rebuilt, nd also covered by L&B.
The Juice brake system, hich had been improvised on the woody, s found - was updated with a new complete Ford system.
The entire front end was replaced with new idler arm, ie rod, ie rod ends, earings, pindles, ubs, acking plates, rakes set-up, nd shoes, s well as new brake drums all from Speedway, nd professionally installed.
Both the rear leaf spring, nd the front leaf spring were replace, nd, after market tubular shocks were installed, lso from Speedway.
New wiring harness throughout. New Headlights, nd bar, ail-light, orn, wiper motor, estored.
1931 model A wheels were sandblasted, nd black powder coated, nd swapped out for the '32 wheels that were on it when purchased- New correct tire, ll five, ith all of 5 miles on them are installed.
The Woody was primarily used as a beach buggy traveling out on Nauset Beach, n Eastham, ass, or Striper fishin, nd family outings, fter WWII.. It was found in it's garage in Eastham, n May 2010, s the family who owned it for the 60 or so years, eld their final estate sale.
The current owner is an avid collector, nd antiquarian, ho spent several years, nd significant resources restoring this classic American icon, the stunning result of which can now be yours to enjoy.
