THIS CORVETTE IS BEING OFFERED WITH ACTUAL 1,749 ORIGINAL MILES WITH NO RESERVE.
First let me start by saying I purchased this car last year from the person who has owned it since 1984. Sometime shortly after the car was purchased new it was in a minor accident. As it isapparent in the photos. The previous owner is a well known body man in this area for many years. Hepurchased it with a clear Ohio title, ade the necessary repairs to it and for whatever reason, ushed it off into the corner of his shop (a heatedand dryfacility) until I purchased it in 2015. The repairs that he made were all done with genuine GM parts and doneto the highest standards. The repairs are finished and only needprimered and painted. The photos pretty much tell the story. There wasdamage to the left front headlight area and the left rear quarter. The original rear bumper is with the car and in good shape. The front bumper is a brand new GM bumper. The interior of the car is gorgeous - as you would expect of a car with only 1749 miles. I personally vacuumed and wiped down the interior of all the shop dust that had collected over the years. This is a pretty highly optioned car. I believe that is why the radio is missing out of the car. From what I read, n 1981 they offered a radio that was AM/FM with acassette and CD player (a very rare option). I am assuming it was stolen at some point. The windshield is cracked which I am sure happened duringthe accident and will need replaced. The engine compartment is of course, 00% original and full of shopdust. I believe it to be an L81. The car is not running or drivable. I put a breaker bar on the engine and it turns over fine. I have not attempted to start the engine because I believe the proper precautions should be taken when doing this -this would call for some time which I do not have. The radiator and A/C Condensor (in mint condition) wereremoved from the car and placed to the side so that the repairs to the left headlight area could be made properly. I do have them. You will notice the 2 left wheels and tires are not original, apparently, he originals were damaged in the accident. The underneath of the car is absolutely gorgeous. Again, s you would expectfrom a car with only 1749 original miles. I see no apparent damage to the left frame area or suspension. I do have a new bumper shock for the left side in the A/C box. The left rear brake caliper was removed (no idea why) and I have it. All the parts that were purchased for the car were genuine GM parts. The parts that I am aware of that are missing are: the left lower rocker molding, hespare tire, he lower half of the spare tire carrier, he membrane that goes behind the back bumper, nd the left 2 original wheels.Due to time, have not dropped the gas tank to find the build sheet. I have no reason to believe it wouldn't be there. The car is equipped with power windows, ower locks, ower seat, ilt telescoping steering column, actory glass t-tops, ruise, /C.The photos you see in the ad show the car while it was in storage before I took it home and photos after I cleaned it up a bit. I have many more photos to show that I can email to serious interested bidders. (Ebay only allows 24). You would need to message me your EMAIL ADDRESS.
This car is a very light project. It really only needs minor assembly, erious cleaning, nd should be entirely repainted even though the majority of the paint is original. Do not regardthis Corvette as you would any other '81vette. This car is a real survivor with unbelievably low low mileage which gives it a great deal ofmonetary value. I have seen other '81 corvettes with 3-4,000 miles on them go forexuberantamounts of money but have yet to see one with mileage this low and original. REMEMBER THIS IS A NO RESERE AUCTION.
I strongly recommend that If you are local, eel free to call to come see it in person or send a representative to see it prior to bidding. Bidders with 0 feedback must contact me prior to bidding or their bid will be removed.
